A World-Class Experience Rooted in Humility and Craftsmanship ! My husband & I finally had the opportunity to visit today. From the moment we stepped onto the property, it was clear: great things are happening here. Every corner of this distillery reflects an unwavering dedication to quality, tradition, and thoughtful innovation.
The staff was nothing short of exceptionalâeach person we encountered was deeply knowledgeable, genuinely passionate, and incredibly welcoming. Whether it was sharing growing and learning pains to explaining the grain selection, the fermentation process, or the nuances of barrel aging, they offered insight with clarity and humility, making us feel like part of the story rather than just visitors.
The facility itself is pristine and meticulously maintained. Every room, every piece of equipment, and every barrel seems to serve a purposeâand that purpose is excellence. You can feel the respect they have for the bourbon-making process in the way everything is laid out: deliberate, precise, and purposeful.
What really stood out, though, was the culture. The people hereâ from owner (Junior) to staff (Christian, Mike, Jason, and to our lovely bartender - whom I regrettably didnât catch her name, so sorry!) to locals (Ken & Michelle) âare some of the most down-to-earth and humble individuals we've had the pleasure to meet. Salt of the earth folks. Thereâs no ego, just a quiet pride in doing things the right way. Their attention to detail is awe-inspiring, and itâs clear that every step, from grain to glass, has been carefully thought out to create something truly special.
This isnât just a distilleryâitâs a masterclass in craftsmanship and hospitality. If you're a bourbon lover, moonshine, or vodka lover (better than Tito - I hear that bell đ)or even just curious, this place is a must-visit. The future is bright here, and you can taste it in every sip. We will be back soon! Thank yâall for the love and...
Read moreââââ Southern Kentucky Distillery â Full of Passion and Potential
I recently visited the Southern Kentucky Distillery and was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and dedication of the team behind this very young operation. The tour was well done, informative, and gave a great look into the early stages of what could become something truly special.
You can really feel the heart and soul being poured into every step of the process. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating an experience that felt personal and authentic.
The tasting included several whiskeys and flavored moonshines. While the bourbon and whiskey have only aged for two yearsâand in my opinion, thatâs not quite enough yetâthe foundation is promising. The flavors are developing, and with another 4â6 years of aging, I believe they could produce something really exceptional.
The moonshines came in a variety of fun and creative flavors, which were enjoyable and offered something for every taste.
This distillery is clearly growing, and Iâm genuinely excited to see where they go from here. The passion is absolutely thereâit just needs time to mature, just like...
Read moreHad a fantastic time at SKD. Luther-our tour guide, Junior-one of the owners, and the whole group that work there were amazing and really made us feel very welcome. Luther was so patient when it came to answering all of our questions on the tour. When it comes to their moonshine, they are very flavor focused, and all were very good. We had a hard time not buying every flavor. We did, however, leave with the Apple, Strawberry Lemonade, Peach, and Blackberry. We also brought home their peanut butter and cinnamon flavored whiskey. What really amazed us was their vodka. It was so smooth going down, and knowing we could not get their brand in our state, bought two bottles. Crazy, I know, leaving with 8 bottles, but when you find a place that is so passionate about their products and they happen to taste amazing and you know you can't get a replacement bottles right away, you just have...
