Overcrowded. What started something fun for the neighborhood has turned into a destination for half the peninsula. It gets so crowded the kids don’t even get a chance to say trick-or-treat. Each homeowner sits at the entrance of their property and kids just walk by and hold up their bucket all the homeowner throws candy and like an assembly line. There’s no personable interaction. Not to mention the homeowners buy cases and cases of candy that we realize don’t get used every year because this year we got tons of expired candy from last Halloween, candy that was Refrigerated last winter and melted during the summer sitting on peoples garage. It was fun at first but by 6 o’clock it was too much. Not to mention the traffic and pedestrians refusing to let cars cross. We walked four blocks back to our street and it was quiet and peaceful and fun and we actually got more candy in less time because the neighbors give you handfuls because hardly anybody shows up :-) It was interesting to see Halloween chaos but will probably stick to our nice quiet street with the families and kids we see every year. Just a quick update 2 years later. It's gotten out of hand. Even our little quiet street now has overflow . They've got people parking all through Hillsborough and blocking the streets double parking all back on Newhall Road. It's fun that it's once a year I think it's probably time to remove this listing and bring it back to the neighborhood. I noticed this year some of the most famous houses didn't even participate. And a lot of the house is trimmed back their decorations. I think the sentiment is that the last two or three years it's got a little much.

It's fantastically beautiful!! Incredible! So much work on this, the people here are very creative and talented! Delight! Throughout the walk, I looked at it all with my mouth open in surprise. Happy Halloween!! 🎃 👻

One of the top destinations on Halloween for kids in the Bay Area, in a somewhat upscale suburban neighborhood. The entire block is closed off and every house tries to out do each other with the most outrageously creative decors. Some are genuinely scary so be prepared if you have really little ones, they may be frightened. The crowd is mostly local...
