The Chairman's Retreat — Attraction in Burlington

We attended a wedding on 07-09. Although the venue is beautiful and plenty of space, the ac was broken. It was a very hot July Saturday. The venue did not offer to put up fans or even provide ice and refreshments. Not even water. My sister suffers from epileptic seizures and she decided to leave to prevent any medical issues. Rehearsal was done Friday night and the ac was not working then. We were told it had not fully kicked in but would be fixed Saturday. Then saturday we were told one side was on, but the other side was unable to be fixed. By 3pm we were sweating so much. When we were eating it was super uncomfortable. And there was absolutely no cool air in that venue. If you book here make sure you get something in writing just in case the ac is broken again that they will have accomodations for you. The Chairman’s Retreat is a great wedding venue! We had our wedding on 9/26/21. The building is beautiful and there are a ton of spots to take pictures. There is a river behind the venue that is also great for photos. The bride and grooms suites are so well designed. We comfortably fit about 10 people in the brides suite. Janna was very responsive to emails and was always a pleasure to talk to when we visited the venue. We had to cut our guest count down to 50 about a month before the wedding and Janna was great at helping us redo the floor plans and answering all of the questions I had. The venue is beautiful but the owner/manager lady is a piece of work. My brother was the groom for a wedding this past weekend. For weeks he complained about how once they gave a deposit to “Janna”, that it was impossible to get in touch with her and countless phone calls, texts and emails went unanswered.

The worst part was ON THE WEDDING DAY, while the bridal party was getting ready on THEIR SPECIAL DAY, this woman held not one but TWO tours through the venue.
