I only got maybe 1.5 miles in and destroyed my derailleur, bent my chain and rear cassette. It's a beautiful place to ride. I wish I could have seen more. The trails are not clearly marked so it's hard to find your way around. It would be wise to bring more than usual hydration and snacks because it would be real easy to get lost and turned around. I had to walk back and got turned around a couple of times. Make sure you take pictures of the trails st the kiosk before you ride, pay your 10 bucks, sign the waiver and leave your contact info, especially emergency contact info. I'll definitely be back now that my bike is repaired.
So 1 week later I went back. We started at the parking lot and went full circle around the land. I was out there riding for over 5 hours. I could have been out there for at least another 3 to get more trails in but ran out of water. Carry extra water/ hydration with you! There are jump trails and flow trails with jumps. There is single track and fire roads they have it all. We ran into the owner before we left and he seemed like a really nice guy. He said they have a lot of plans for his property. As of now it's awesome because I did not see 1 other rider out there. I'm sure when people get wind of this place it will start to get packed. Another tip is bring tools with you incase something breaks or you need to fix a tire. If you have to walk back it will be a long walk because you really can't just go from point A to point B. Always keep mindful of your surroundings so you remember how...
Read moreI am giving this place 5 stars because I enjoy riding my bike, especially in places that challenge me. However, our ride started out a little rough with us having to climb through the chains of the first gate and carefully get our bikes through as well. In the past, this gate was not locked. Maybe there was something we missed, but we had the obstacle of getting through the gate first. Also, the owners or trail builders really need to mark trails more clearly. We had a hard time following trails even with the help of the Trailforks App. They do provide a simple map of the current location that is painted on a pallet. Yes, a pallet. They also provide a small paper map to view. If you're tired, viewing a small map can be highly frustrating. At $10 a person, I would expect better signage of trails, and trails to be marked clearly, especially at crossroads, etc. Small rant over...this place is a great place to ride, hike, or jog. The trails consist of beginner to expert level trails, as well as some jump lines. If you enjoy dirt jumps that range from small to large, this is your place. They recently created some progressive drops to help build confidence and skill. Despite my small rant in the beginning of this review, I would highly recommend this RPR. YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST! So go get your bike and ride...
Read moreThis place has great potential to be awesome, but like most mtb trail systems in Texas, it is poorly managed and not well taken care of. I went there today and the place looked like it hadn’t been maintained for YEARS! As I was putting on my gear, another guy came up and demanded his money back because the trails were “unridable”. Later as I was just getting to the trail head, I ran into about 8 more guys who were also bailing early because it was so over grown and unridable, and they were all on e-bikes. I shoulda followed, but thought I would give it a shot anyway. Trails were terrible; over grown, filled with prickly thorns and thistles, and largely washed away. The jump lines were just as bad and the features looked very sketchy. It was miserable. It’s only $15, but I’ve been on much better maintained trails that were free to ride! I hate to be so negative because the mtb community is so positive and connected, but the guy at the front straight up lied about trail conditions. As I was leaving I heard him lying to someone else just showing up. This area got hit hard by flooding not too long ago, so I’ll cut them slack and...
