This is in the middle of nowhere Harney County. The closest town is Fields with 12 people. They do have good breakfasts, milkshakes and hamburgers. This is a beautiful area to look at. There is some history of borax mining here. Be careful of dogs and children as the pools go anywhere from warm to burn your face off hot. There is also unhealthy levels of arsenic in the water. Great views of the Steens and Pueblo Mountains nearby. Not a destination in my opinion. But one of many things to see in the area and worth a stop. It involves a couple miles of dirt roads and another mile or two of walking to reach the hot springs. There are no bathrooms or admittance to...

It's a decent walk out to these springs, so be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. Also, the road is a bit rough (see my review for Borax Lake). These are worth checking out if you are in the area though, especially if you have any interest in geoscience. Many of the hot springs have old bacteria colonies in them (please do not disturb them) and it is cool to see that terrestrial life has found a way to live in such hostile...
