TL:DR if you are in poor health, have an infant, or a senior citizen, you may want to rethink this trip if it's hot or be WELL prepared to take care of your own medical needs while on site.
That said, if you ARE in good health, the sunflower festival was really cool.
While the place is cool, they need to do some serious training with their staff for heat stress and heat stroke. Had an older lady go through a heat stress incident and it was horrible the lack of training and how unorganized it was. No communication, no plan in place, no nurses on staff for the day, nothing and the one staff member who was trying to help said they had a actual heat stroke incident earlier that day too. And another staff member took the golf cart to go restock the vendor booth with water rather than keep it in the area in case it was needed for the heat stress victim. As much money as they pull in on a day like that, they should pay an EMT staff to stay on site and be ready for these incidents. No misters or fans or a medical trailer with AC to help in this kind of situation, nothing. The lady in distress had to just sit there for 15-20 minutes in the heat with no help plan. I asked if there was somewhere with AC we could take the lady and they said just the owner's house but made NO attempts to get her there. Finally we had to borrow a wheelchair from a guest to take her to her friend's car so she could sit in the AC. Shade was just one tent with not nearly enough tables and chairs for the amount of people there. The staff member wanted to lay the lady down on the bench, the table, or the ground. Those were the choices.
Likewise, the cellular reception was non existent and there wasn't any wifi. If you have a medical emergency, it will be difficult to get staff to help and no EMTs or trained staff on site. Nor do they have adequate means of communication between staff members.
The City of Buhler should really look into this to be honest and ensure the people coming to the area are...
Read moreTook the nephew, his wife & the great nephews. Called ahead to make sure they could fit our RV. They said sure. Arrived was directed by the kids with the flashlights directing us to the overflow area, & then a met by a Truck that took us to the perfect spot. The adults & kids shot pumpkins, corn cobs, played nerf paint ball & enjoyed them fully. The corn maze it's self was great. Only got lost once for about 20mins. But the adults listened to the 9yr old, & he rescued us. This place is a great family blast!!! Can't wait until next yr. Refreshments were plenty, &...
Read moreFun little place with photo opportunities set up along the way, which is so great and unexpected! We loved looking at all the insects, pictures with the flowers, playing on the bubble jump and ending the day getting to pick out a flower to take home! Only downfall was how far away they were from us. I plan to go again next year now that I...
