For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum — Attraction in Burton

Staff was kind & helpful. Park is always very clean. Tons of stuff to keep little ones occupied, and lots of hiking trails and things to explore for the older ones. You will learn a lot about nature! There are binoculars and special outdoors backpacks you can rent out for special adventures. Lots of cool taxidermy and also live reptiles/amphibians/insects/fish. In the late spring and early summer, all the flowers are bloomed and leaves on the trees, there is wildlife EVERYWHERE... it's beautiful and amazing. The big tree house and "creaky shaking bridge" are always a hit with the kids. They do tours and events if you watch their social media you can find some cool stuff to do all summer long! My kids and friends and family all adore this place. We always make it a point to leave it cleaner than we found it. I tell each child they are a "nature helper" and I have them pick up any trash we find along the way. There are trash cans and porta-potties for use. A butterfly garden, vegetable garden, and greenhouse. I HIGHLY recommend this preserve/nature center, if you are interested in spending the day outdoors. It's especially helpful on moms who need to wear their little ones out a bit 😅 I also recommend hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Hidden gem! If you love nature hiking or just spending the day learning something new than" for mar " is the place there is something for everyone 1st you will want to goto the visitor/nature center where they have a small but well displayed exibit on what you could encounter on your adventures and you can also get a map and info on the trails or other offerings. There is a short walk from the nature center to a pond with fish and a viewing deck to watch the bird action. There is a butterfly house depending on the season. might have butterflies or cacoons? And don't forget the huge tree house "tree house master's " it's every kids dream. There's short paved trails for anyone who might need it. Handicap parking and clean restrooms located at the nature center the turkey & deer can be seen everywhere but most during sunset. Just driving in & out. For-Mar Nature Preserve is a beautiful hidden Gem within Genesee county. Great for any event , even a corporate retreat. Best place to go rain or shine to just breathe and enjoy life ! There is so much more than just walking trails , the staff are Extremely Knowledgeable and helpful always excited to show you something new or talk about animals and bugs . You'll never leave here exhausted but always refreshed ! The butterfly garden, walking trails , turtle lookout and of course the tree house and let's never for the bees !
