Strictly from a paddle boarding experience, the lake wasn’t bad. Quiet, not motorized boats to compete with. But I honestly don’t mind when the boats are out and about. Wake isn’t a big deal. The water was pretty murky and the few spots I pulled ashore that were away from the recreation area, there were beer cans and trash and it being a more isolated lake - you can tell people take advantage of this. I enjoy more people being around, so it being a scenery only lake was fine- but nothing jaw dropping. Park and beach and facilities looked great. Good family location.

Great place to kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. No gas-powered boats so you don't have to worry about wakes. Tons of parking with ample room to pull down by water to unload. There's a huge picnic area you can rent out with grills, public bathrooms, and a small-ish swimming area with free life jackets. One of my favorite spots to kayak at. During summer there is a fee per car. As of the time I'm writing this review the fee is $7 per car.

One of the few non-motorized water craft beaches on Falls Lake. Kayaks , canoes, tubes and paddle boards permitted. Makes it great for those who want to enjoy a dip in the water without the disruption and noise of jet skis and speed boats. Plenty of parking, picnic shelters and clean restrooms. Costs about $7 per car to enter for the day during spring and summer.

Great for birdwatching in the winter. Lots of ducks in the upper part of the lake, south of Old Weaver Rd. And the best part is no motorized boats! So it was pretty quiet the Saturday in January.

I haven't been here in the summer but there are a TON of picnic tables and shelters and grills. Looks like a great place to bring everyone for a picnic or cookout.

There is also a nice dock for launching canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, or sailboats, with plenty of parking. And a swim beach and a fishing dock or two.

Looks like a lot of trails as well. I plan to come back with my family and...

Beaverdam Lake is one of several access areas of Falls Lake State Recreation Area. It's right off Creedmoor Road, north of the visitor center. This area is day use only, no camping, but it is open year round. There are picnic areas, a swim beach, short hiking trails and a boat ramp. Gas motors are prohibited in Beaverdam Lake, so it's a great place for kayaking or paddleboarding. Beaverdam also has about 12 miles of mountain biking trails. There is a fee to enter, daily in the summer and on weekends in the shoulder season. No fee to enter...
