We came in Friday evening. We had never been here before and were a little unsure of where we were going. We came in and the gate guard was kind of quiet. He didn't mention the rules or give us a map. There was also no mention of the availability of ice, bait or firewood. We ended up getting all that from Falls Lake Mini Mart, which was small, but had the few things we needed. We stayed on Loop 5 in Holly Point. We had a water side campsite, but it was about 30 feet off the water, through some woods. The bugs were not as bad as I expected them to be. 100% Deet kept them at bay and we only got a few bites. We did find a deer tick on one of the kids and highly recommend wearing the proper clothing and bug repellent. Our fire pit wasn't cleaned out and when we did it ourselves we found a bunch of nails and weird stuff in there.. We fished in the cove down from our site and caught about 10 fish in about 6 hours of fishing. We caught bass, sunfish and cat fish. We went to the beach area and found it nice and comfortable. Bring something to float on and a towel to sit on. We found the bathrooms a bit out dated, but they worked to keep clean. The showers are small and all of your stuff gets wet if not in a dry bag (stuff sack worked to keep my stuff dry / put your phone in a zip lock). The water was good and hot and pressure was good, despite the automatic off showers, which require a press to keep them on more than a minute..LOL Late Saturday night one of our neighbors was extremely loud and stayed that way until well after 1am. I read other reviews saying the rangers were tough, but we didn't find that to be the case. I wish they would have been. Someone threw up in the men's toilets and it splashed all over all of the stalls. I looked for an after hours number but no one would answer. I ended up flagging down a ranger who took care of cleaning the restrooms at around 8am, a few hours after we needed them. There is a LOT of air traffic with the airport being so close, but we didn't mind the sounds of the big planes. All and all I think we will return with a...

Read moreSo I went to meet somebody that I only had met over the phone. Well when I got there it was a gentleman and his family. But anyway I had come over 2 hours to meet some people that I had never seen face-to-face. And so they offered me some corn and some pork butt. Within the first 2 minutes that I was there there was some lemonade out there but I didn't drink it because I was leery. Anyway So within the first 10 minutes they started all getting on their phones and talking about all these people that had either drowned commit suicide gotten a boat wreck at that very place that we were at and it just freaked me out. And then I told them I was very uncomfortable so I was going to leave. When I went into the lot they had me parked down behind the tent because they said that they were only allowed so many cars in each lot. But they were about to block me and that's what it looked like. So the sister pulls up but before she pulled in I told them hey I'm out of here. So everybody decided they were just going to take off like I mean as soon as I decided that I was leaving everybody disappeared it was really really scary so I don't think I'll be coming back over there. Of course they let me out but immediately after that everybody disappeared like even before that once they discovered that I wanted out of there everyone just...
