Falls Lake — Attraction in Butner

This is an excellent place for family outing. It has actually everything, walking trails, place to chill and relax by water, play, bar-b-que, you name it and they have it. People bring their boats also here. My only complaint could be water not being very clean on the beach, probably 'cause we went on a weekend and there were so many people there. It is also a bit out of town but to find a big place like this you have to drive. They also have a nominal entrance fee which is fine.

The park is very nice but the ONLY think I dislike about this park is that you have to literally pay to go to the park which isn’t right at all. What if some people just wants to go to the park and sit but we have to pay and sit at the park… most other parks are free. I think they need to get rid of the admission fee and let it be free for everyone to come and just sit back and relax. Especially during this time. We all trying make it in this crazy world and with gas prices going up we cannot afford to pay for extra stuff. Falls Lake is a gorgeous location to take the family, have a picnic, fish all the while; enjoying the nearby view. Right alongside the water,in many cases,you will see animals & birds taking a drink of freshly cooled water. It's great to see all the beautiful, awesome wildlife. Entrance fee is very minimal per car-load, depending on which part of the Lake, you're heading. Prepare for a whole day of recreation!
