Sandling is a man made beach within Falls Lake State Park. They charged $10 for the holiday weekend entrance fee. Sandling is accessible to the fire pits for barbecuing and is very small. Perfect for families and small children. You can access the beach on Creedmoor Rd. This was the perfect place for a convenient beach day 4th of July weekend. It saved me the 4 hour round trip to Bear Island. I arrived early around 10:30 a.m. and there were no crowds. We camped out near the showers and bathrooms. This park is perfectly lined with trees in abundance. Perfect for barbecuing. There are no food trucks or cafes in the area, so pack a picnic or bring, coal, light fluid, veggies, and meats for grilling. We enjoyed our morning picnic and the water was very relaxing. I appreciate how clean the sand area was and the garbage was well organized as well. I brought my mother who is 72 and I had concerns about the proximity of the restrooms and showers and overall access. I was relieved to discover how convenient the beach access was for those with mobility impairment and disabilities.
There are no pets allowed and no alcohol permitted. I watched the park rangers escort someone with a pit bull to the parking lot to return home and a woman was asked to dump out several beer cans. You have been warned. They run a tight ship here. I plan to return throughout the remainder of the...
Read moreWe went here last year and it was awesome. There's a beautiful beach. Plenty of people plenty of swimming, protected by buoys. Restrooms, i think there were showers, you can take a nice walk, and you should look into what you can really do here! You are able to reserve an entire beach to you. And your party, along with a big, covered area for people wanting to be in the shade or undercover. And I believe you can even camp there overnight, but I might be wrong about that. Definitely. Look into this beach because it's awesome just to visit for a day. And it's possible you can go stay there with friends and reserve one of the beaches for yourself. Do you have a giant family with future gatherings? There's no doubt this would be an awesome place to do it. If you guys like water and the beach...
Read moreSo this review is from a recent trip which was the first day of the season that the park was open to the public. The park was super clean and you could tell that they have been working to get the park ready. there was virtually no one there except 3 or 4 people just hanging out. There's a park playground for children there is a nice swimming area and lots of picnic tables and group picnic shelters. This is one of the more popular swimming spots so there's lots of parking spaces there also. The Park is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there is an entrance fee on the weekends and holidays April, May, & Sept. Memorial Day thru Labor Day there is a daily per-car fee. There are 7 picnic shelter areas and and 8 bathrooms spread out over the park. There is about 2 miles of maintained...
