Wish there was more for the kids and less for the dogs! Let the dog owners pay the tax to build dog parks! Owning a dog is optional, but we ALL were kids once. Parks like this one are lacking in the playground equipment, although, this one much less-so than many. For example, see our uptown parks... and Stodden is great, centrally located, but it is far away for many... we need better stuff for our kids, the overly pampered pets will be fine! Let their owners pay their expenses alone.
It is sad that you can tell the higher income neighborhoods in Butte by the quality of the parks nearby... typical, the kids that need a park the most receive the least equipment, but upper middle class and rich can have a nearby park for their dogs... sad. Butte...
Read moreThe only real bark park in Butte with 3 fenced off areas for the pups to run around in. There are also some nice trails to walk about if that's more your style. Never fished at the pond, but I see kids out there during the summer, there's also a nice water fountain for people and pups, and a cute little playground with benches. That's going to be an ice patch in winter and will make corralling dogs a little unsafe. I definitely wish it had better upkeep and amenities. Would also be great to have more than just one place dogs could go.
Update 4/22: the mud puddle got some gravel over the winter. The amenities problem stands though. Still no reliable water, for people or pets, unless some kindly owner leaves a spare...
