Looking for something to do that's Fall related, we decided to go apple picking. We googled apple orchards near us and came up with a few on the list. We decided to visit Snell Family Farm since it was the closest to us and also had good reviews. The orchard/farm was huge with all sorts of vegetables and good variety of "pick your own" apples. They have two bag sizes: $20 for a peck, about 10lbs and $30 for 1/2 bushel, about 20lbs. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There are also plenty of parking. Since this visit was October 19 (late season), some varieties were already unavailable. However, McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun, Northern Spy, Empire and many more were still plentiful. So, if you are thinking of picking apples, I highly recommend Snell Family Farm in...

Great orchard, great variety of apples that are great looking! They had bags for you to use to pick you apples. I think apples were $1.25 a lb, didn't matter what kind. They also, right now, have a good seletion of pumpkins. They also have a small market with a great selection of veggies! And some baked items, and the honey we bought looks amazing! My only problem is that we bought a really great looking large apple pie, $17.00. There were fruit flies in the pie and what looked like to be a little bit of mold, we probably just got it at the wrong time, maybe it was older, but the fruit flies did bother us and make it inedible. Otherwise, loved everything else about...

We were a tad bit late for the donuts, but that's okay! Next time, though. I was able to visit this past October (2024) for some garlic I can plant in my garden - I can't wait to see how they turn out in the summer! Flowers are gorgeous here and a verity of delicious options. Thank you!

Update - October 2025: I have saved some bulbs I had previously purchased and planted last year. This is my second garlic-growing season and I am so happy to continue this wonderful garlic in my garden! It is worth the visit when it's garlic seed season. I will forever recommend! And such pretty...

Are the only apples you got Macintosh. I want moldy brown and squishy apples. What I do with them is none of your business. Ok fine I'll tell you, I smash them up, and cover my body with the remnants. It smells like death but is the only thing that can get the flag up the pole. And let's just say, I'll be farting apple sauce for the next 5 days. So as I was saying these apples are to fresh thanks alot.

We stopped by Snell Family Farms today and were absolutely delighted by the experience! The farm is beautiful, the team is welcoming, and the fresh gifts we picked up made the perfect additions for our family this Mother’s Day. Thank you for helping us celebrate with such thoughtful, local goodness. We’re proud to support a hardworking Maine farm like yours! — S.B. Taylor Transport
