I was really excited when I found out that there was a hiking trail, but sadly I was very disappointed. Not even half way through it I found trash littering the banks of the river. Though this wasn't that disturbing because all parks have trouble with litter. But as i want further in i just kept seeing more and more bottles and not a trash can in sight. I still continued on hoping that further down that it would get better... I was wrong I found multiple trees that had fallen on the path. It was clearly obvious that they had been there for a very long time. Eventually it got so bad that I just ended up turning around and going back and walking the the paved trail. Before going people had told me that this park was clean and very well maintained. I am heart broken to that not only is that it is covered in trash, but has been abandoned...
Read moreA good sized, nice park which is also a trailhead for Kent Trails. This is a county park and has a lot the offer. There is a ball diamond near the entrance and a large open field. There is another large field right next to that with quite a few picnic tables and a playground structure that looked like to be for younger kids. There are multiple soccer fields. Closer to the center of the park is an enclosed shelter that can be rented. There were a huge number of picnic tables in the shaded area near the shelter. All fields are generally well maintained if not super flat. No injuries so far due to field conditions. We serve soup and the kitchen is very adequate.
