We arrived Friday May 3rd and left Saturday May 4, 2019. It had rained on and off throughout the week, was dry on Friday and almost all of Saturday. This was our first trip here and it was a good one! Camping is a wide open field; bring a camper or a tent or nothing at all. Restroom facilities are clean portajons. The fire department was also there providing a pump and hoses to wash the mud off your vehicle for a $5 donation. Due to a prior commitment, we could not stay and ride on Sunday or we would have. The staff was friendly and helpful. The trails were good. There were a few rutted out areas that made it difficult to navigate through at times but nothing too bad. I got into a difficult off shoot trail (Devil's Bathtub I think) and could not seem to find my way out. I ended up backtracking and exiting out the entrance This was our second trip to a facility like this. We went to Mines and Meadows in PA last year and had a great time. They have more trails with more side trails than Renegade but a comparable facility. We live in Akron, OH and both of these places are about an hour and a half away from us.
The only thing we found as a con was the drinking and the slobs who left their beer cans along the trails. Although there wasn't an abundant amount, there was enough to notice. It's a site to see people with a beer in one hand and a handlebar in the other trying to navigate a trail. We didn't experience anyone getting out of hand so that's a good thing. I don't personally feel that the drinking is an overwhelming issue but it needs to be a conscious choice for the driver and their friends not to let it go too far. I felt it necessary to mention this for anyone bringing their families so they know what to expect.
We also saw plenty of riders without helmets or glasses which is crazy to me. Wrecking my dirt bike at an early age made me realize how important it is to wear a helmet...thanks dad! Safety gear is a choice for the rider here except minors. I only used my four wheel drive twice to get through some slimy muddy areas. Don't think you need a 4X4 to ride the trails because you don't. Two of the four of us did not have a 4X4 quad and never got stuck. All in all a great place to have a good time and thank you to the owner (Greg I think) for creating a facility like this! We look forward to our next trip...
Read moreFirst of all I’ve never even heard of this place until me and my son tirelessly looked for a place to ride our four wheelers. This place gets packed as it seems they are only open select weekends which in my opinion makes it hard to just go riding when you get that itch. This was our first time out riding trails and on used bikes we just bought. The trails were muddy from a week long rain storm Ohio had seen. We visited 06/27/2020. I had a issue with my Yamaha raptor that required me to be towed back to camp the staff that rolled up on my and my son was nice enough to help me get back and I thank you for that. It stormed like crazy while we were there so we took a nap. My bike was down for the duration of the trip so my son went riding by himself. He was out riding and he went down the wrong trail he had a Polaris trailboss 325 2x4 and ended up in a 4x4 only area got stuck and asked staff for help and they told him to go cry to his daddy! Which led to us leaving early as it upset him and myself! The rest of the time was nice the people around us riding were awesome and had it not been for another rider my sons bike would still be stuck there today. All I have to say is the place is awesome but your staff is 50/50 on being helpful and the fact your staff couldn’t help my son with a easy tow upset me enough to possibly not come back and spend my hard...
Read moreWe had a great ride for three solid hours. This is only my 3rd season of off roading for me though my husband is a lifetimer on motorcycles, dirt bikes and atvs. We were riding 3 machines ... CanAm Outlander Max 1000, my Razr 570 and a friend on a sport quad. I found the trails were challenging and hard work riding. Few straight smooth areas to open up. A couple times other riders on dirt bikes were unable to navigate the rutty trails and everyone was held up while folks pushed the bikes up the trail. Lots of deep ruts, quick turns, muddy patches and dusty dry roads. Hubby buried the CanAm in a greasy mud pit ... the type of mud that eats your boots and locks you in place. Many loose rocks on the trails. I kicked one up and our friend ruined a tire sidewall. I splashed thru a muddy creek several times and couldn't get my Razr to run thereafter. Hubby had to tow me back to the parking area. Loved the one way trail pattern. Well coordinated event. Lots of wide grassy areas for a group break ... some even shady. We will likely return. We were sorry our day...
