Sally Buffalo Park — Attraction in Cadiz

As a Sally Buffalo camper for 12 years, I will say that the place has changed - a lot. It USED to be good years ago (pre-2012), then the Oil & Gas company practically took over the park, and now the park management is taking advantage of it by nearly doubling the rates since they moved in. For example: The rates were $16/night when we used to camp here in a permanent spot (Area 5) during our last season in 2012, now the rates are $30 per night (as of Aug. 2015), just for a non-permanent spot, most likely in C, which is absolutely ridiculous, all things considered. Including the fact that area C is the cheapest area to camp in the park, and we camped here in a permanent lot, which is considerably higher than area C, and we paid half the rate they are charging just for C.

In conclusion, the park was great for the longest time. Today, the place is being taken advantage of by greedy park management (AKA the city of Cadiz, because they actually own the place), just because the oil company needs to use the place for their workers. If you think about it, the park is actually needed for the gas & oil workers, because they come from all over the US - no wonder they're raising the rates. Then the normal camper, such as myself, would have to accept the astronomically higher rates. I give the place two stars because it's being taken advantage of. If I were to rate it in 2007, it would be five stars...

My family and I just rented a spot out at Sally Buffalo this 4th of July weekend 2016. We had been there as guests of permanent campers often in the past. It was nice then. Now it's horrible. The people who work there give you the wrong information, for example when the events are. We were told by staff the fireworks were on Friday but they were on Saturday. We were also told we would be able to see them from our spot and we were not able to. The young female that works for the park speeds around in the park truck, above the speed limit and with no consideration of the kids riding their bikes and playing in the area. There is dog poop everywhere, as no one is cleaning up after their animals and you have to dodge it when taking a walk and having to move off the road for oncoming vehicles. The beach/swimming area is absolutely disgusting! You can't even get into the water without stepping over a ton of bird/geese/duck poop. One pile of it was piled up bigger than a softball. We stayed very close to our RV the whole time we stayed there due to the uncleanliness. While we are beginner RV campers $30 per night in C site seemed to be a bit high but from now on we will pay the higher fee for different campground that is cleaner, safer and healthier for...

i considered sally buffalo park my second home i would rent the cabins or i came often to have fun all day im upset cabis r gonna be gone i was there for the 4th i was ver disapointed people with tents next to lake with babies screaming and dogs barking none stop the benches were gone im disbbled im in wheel chair noe or walker people tht wasnt handicapp had the doc with bunch kids a bunch was taken the little turtles out of watr taking them that made me cry this place really went down hill i hadnt been out there for a year because crippling arthritis set in on me but im very sad what i seen yesterday crying...
