Tom and Cindy Bradshaw have created, quite possibly, the best winery and wine tasting venue in Western N.C. At the very least, the Twisted Vine Winery is the best that the Foothills has to offer. With a barn style tasting room that has recently been opened up to a larger area, there is plenty of room inside to sit with friends and family to enjoy a bottle or three of some of their best offerings. They have an outdoor stage for live music events and a cozy little porch where you can sit outside and enjoy the music, your wine or just take in the view. The staff is very friendly, funny and extremely accommodating. I first met Tom "Chief Wino" Bradshaw as a Volunteer Hudson Firefighter some 33 years ago and must say, I never saw grapes in his future. I am so glad that he and Cindy have found and built their passion into what it is today. They are a very welcome addition to the people of Hudson and Caldwell County, despite a couple of cronic complainers who have caused them some grief and undue restrictions placed by the Town of Hudson in recent days. In my honest opinion, the Twisted Vine Winery may technically sit within the Town of Hudson's ETJ (extraterritorial jurisdiction) but they have no rightful place to restrict a business that their Municipal Law Enforcement cannot enforce because they are outside the Town Limits. If the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office has to enforce any noise complaints, this should have been an issue to be taken up with the Caldwell County Planning Board, not the Town of Hudson. Furthermore, the Twisted Vine Winery has a Lenoir, NC address on the Legion Road, not Hudson. At any rate, go out and support local agriculture, local wine makers and most importantly, local family small business. While you are visiting, grab a nice, cold frozen wine slushy. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you Tom and Cindy, for sharing your passion with us, your neighbors...
Read moreMy wife and I came to this winery and had a blast! We were able to social distance by sitting outside on the BEAUTIFUL heated patio (the owner Tom turned it on for us, so nice!). We had it all to ourselves—very romantic. We ordered wine flights, a cheese plate, and wine slushies. Everything we got was so good and reasonably priced: you can’t beat a wine flight for $7. The owner was also very nice and good at explaining what we were ordering and answered any questions we had about the selections. Also can I mention how beautiful this place is? While we didn’t sit inside, when we ordered we saw how lovely the interior is. Also there is plenty of absolutely gorgeous patio space to look out on the vineyard and marvel in the beautiful mountain side. In all, I wish I could give this place 10 stars out of five because it was just such an excellent experience. Would travel the 200 miles just...
Read moreAmazing! Fabulous wine in a perfect setting. We happens to stop by in a sunny afternoon. They had live music outdoors on their deck area and a food truck. The owner’s were very helpful and attentive. It’s not often that I really like many wines at a local winery. This place had many offerings that were all amazing. It may have something to do with the small batches. I had to purchase a case to take home all my favorites. Definitely worth the stop. “Family owned and argued over since 2014” according to...
