Check the weather before heading out to Malibu! Prepare yourself for a winding car ride in the Santa Monica Mountains, leading to only a very small lot to park your vehicle before you short trek on a fire road which leads to an abandoned site which is no adorned in graffitti. On a clear day you will have a full view of the Pacific and breathtaking views of the valley behind you. If you choose to go on a foggy day (which I did) prepare to scare yourself into believing you are in Stephen Kings book āThe Fogā. The erie environment can make this 2 mile round trip trek all the more exciting while letting your mind wander while rain drops and small birds traverse in the under brush. In this location the graffiti covered concrete pads do not appear as obstruction of property, but rather pure art. This is a great spot to relax and clear your mind. Beware of cyclists and motorcycles while driving through the narrow winding road which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe view is fantastic. Don't get my 3-star rating mistaken, but the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy mismanages it with their blatant money grab. You don't pay when you park- you pay when you leave. They've put the stop sign in an unnatural place on purpose, so that nobody stops there.... you can't even see the traffic on Topanga from where it is,,,, then after you pull up to where the stop sign should be and stop, they send you a ticket in the mail for not stopping at the stop sign. It's a total scam. They know it, you know it, but they refuse to change it because they want to scam everyone and get paid. You should ask yourself why there has been special legislation to allow stop sign cameras only in the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. It's because they want to scam you with...

Itās safe and thereās no danger of falling, tho a fence provides an added layer of protection for visitors, their children and pets! Thereās several parking spaces and short walking paths to view from. Even picnic spots are available to do lunch with a view! Years ago, there were some hiking trails that connected with the backbone trails of other flanks. More recently, development has been encroaching here, and the adjoining trails have been sealed off with fencing. Now the Top of Topanga is, as the name implies, simply...
