Would like to rate with minus stars but not an option! And the lake was fine. Stayed in the cabins, big big mistake!!! Was not clean as with others have said the water smell is horrible, but when you run it long enough it did get better. Biggest problem was the door lock.... batteries were dead and the management didn't seem to care. After trying to call several times went to the store where you check in and not much luck there either. Seems they couldn't take time to check and then after my son changed the batteries out with my own batteries all they have to say is they didn't have any triple A batteries. Would have some the next morning! Umm no!! Not the right answer!! Besides the lock uses double A batteries. They did replace my batteries which I changed out for my more expensive batteries before I left. Another huge issue is the A/C dripping on the stairs and landing, major Hazzard. I know because I stepped in the wrong spot and busted myself on the stairs. Lucky for me only a few bruises and skint places on my leg. My recommendation find somewhere else to stay or a different lake. Also want to add that the management was very rude and have no customer service. Also the website is very misleading concerning the cabins.
Reply to your rudeness; Unfortunately for you I did not let 4 little batteries determine my weekend! You and your staff tried to do that with your incompetence. Never have I stayed at any cabin, motel, hotel or rental house that has had such rudeness, or absolutely no customer service. And I have stayed in quite a few places. As for the cabin being dirty, you knew it was rented so why not check it too see that it was clean and check the batteries too. As for your dripping A/C, they drip when it is 75-80 degrees, why doesn't it have a drain hose to keep the water off your steps and landing. Seems that would help prolong the life of the wood, treated or not.
Yes you need to sell said property as evidently you don't have any hospitality credentials. Have a...
Read moreWe rented one of their cabins #14 this past weekend. Since we took our boat and cart and couldn't take our camper also. Very spacious, alot of room for a lot of people. Mattresses weren't too bad either we all slept comfortably. Cabin was clean and air was on when we got there, which was very nice we didn't have to cool it down after lugging all our stuff up stairs. (You will need to bring EVERHTHING with you to stay in the cabins, they have hot plate, small convection oven and fridge, no microwave)
The beaches are clean (could be gone over like in 2020 to even it out again after the high water events) and the store has most of what you need if you forget something. Boat ramps are maintained and free of catfish heads and debris that could be tire nightmares. Plenty of dumpsters everywhere not overflowing or stinking. The staff is always nice and have never had an issue at any of our stays here.
I highly recommend this place, they have much more space to play around than some of the other camp grounds on the lake. It's not campers on top of campers.
**For the owner, it would be nice to keep your outdoor bathrooms a little cleaner, too many spider webs in there to use the facility's comfortably. Stairs need to be reworked on the cabins, some of the boards are loose and during the storms there was water spraying into our kitchen window and the wind made the metal on the roof pop a little. We did report this to the office when we left today. We did thoroughly enjoy the lightning show, and we didn't die, so it was a good time. I have been coming for a couple of years now in my own parties or with others, it's getting better each trip as far as cleanliness around the grounds. Also the AC unit between 13 and 14 needs some kind of sign or marker, almost wacked my head when going up since it hangs over the stairs and with the loose boards you're looking...
Read moreI camped from 10/22/21-10/24/21 at campsite 51 & the electricity wasn't even working. I informed the owner & was never offered a refund, nor a solution. I didn't cause a scene but most other people would have. Luckily, I had family camped next to us who had an extra extension cord to connect to their breaker box. I understand there was a flood many years ago but there's got to be a better solution to the spider infestation and the dirt throughout the restroom/shower areas. I would assume it's not as big of an issue if you're in an RV or camper, but for people in a tent, something needs to change. There's some toilet bowl lids that are broken & restroom locks that don't work. The bagged ice is priced sky high at $5+ for a 16 lb. bag. The marina itself is nice inside. The owner is very accommodating if you need to purchase something from the marina while it's not open. He's also a down to earth guy with helpful fishing tips. The grass is cut low & grounds are kept clean. Plenty wildlife to see & if camping overnight, a bright full moon is awesome to see over the water. Pretty decent fishing as well. I'm hopeful that the new owner will be what big creek marina needed in order to thrive again. Still a long ways to go it seems regarding upgrading &...
