Resaca Battlefield Historic Site — Attraction in Calhoun

Overshadowed by the not so far away Chickamauga battlefield maybe, with no historic remark signs nor monuments to be found here. Nicely maintained and well marked trails (a little bit difficult at spots) in both wooded and plain areas, inclined or flat. Some areas may hold water after the rain. Usually (always, maybe) quiet, with very few people to meet there. Actually quiet enough to loudly hear the neighboring I-75 noise at spots. I visited this side on Wednesday morning, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous all day. The trails are well marked and well maintained. There are some hills, and a few roots, but nothing major. These are hallowed grounds, and should be respected! I hiked around for about Four hours. However, if you’re just straight hiking, you will be done in nearly half that time. This property is well maintained. The trails are nice kept up with gravel. The longest loop is about 2 miles with moderate inclines.
