Park main entrance was gated, city seems to not have money to maintain park so they decided to close access to certain areas. From the looks of it you can still park by the dog park area but not a lot to see. The one restroom seemed open and actually clean and maintained. Still seems like a quiet relaxing place to go to even though main areas are close and no access to. I remember coming here in the early 90's and was an amazing park, it was huge, green and we'll matained.

was like going back to the eighties. People were friendly and it seemed to be place were you could let your guard down and relax a little children would come up and greet you and the parents didn't seem bothered by it. It was pleasant. However the park need restorations and plant control. This place has potential hopefully the city will get someone in office that is able to make changes a restore the dream it once was built

The park its self is cool. Its a nice spot to walk the dog and take the kids. Not sure if the bathrooms are open in the park The inn next door is why i came out, its absolutely amazing and if anyone knows anything about the LAKE SHORE INN please contact me. I would like to purchase this place and reopen it for something that can bring $$$ back into California City and help people instead of letting it get dilapidated.

Lovely park that time has forgotten. A man made lake once sported brightly colored pedal boats that could be rented for an hourly rate. A huge pergola extending over the water provided a pedestal from which to feed the large flock of ducks, awaiting a hand out. There is a youth building (short of funds for youth activities), but well intentioned folks who want the best for the young people. Tennis courts are available for those who wish to give the game a go. The courts are often used by Roller bladers when empty. The children's play areas have been recently upgraded with quality commercial grade equipment provided by state grant money. The true hidden gem at City Park is the beautifully restored swimming pool. Certified lifeguards are on duty. The pool is spotlessly clean and provides a pleasant respite from the desert heat. Sessions start at 1pm til 3:45 pm. Tuesday thru Saturday. Water aerobics Mon. Thru Thurs. from 10am til 11 am. All services require a nominal fee and a sign in. No unsupervised small children. Spacious grounds for a impromptu soccer game or a quick softball game. Don't forget to bring your dinner to throw on the numerous grills that are available for visitors...

The park is nice upon entry. There are lots of places to park your vehicle. There’s a nice lake with lots of geese or ducks. It has a pool, two centers for residents to use for events and green grass as far as the eye can see. There is a very dangerous bridge there. It’s falling apart and needs attention immediately. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. I’ve heard of children breaking their arms and being hurt on this bridge. The city needs to pay attention to it immediately. Otherwise the park is a good place to hang out and enjoy...
