We visited this trail on a beautiful day. The plants, the gusty wind, the egrets in flight, the blue skies, the clean air - so serene and cleansing. We had an invigorating walk around the trail, and down to Doran Beach to watch waves gently crashing on the beach. My dog loved the adventure every step of the way. We saw incredible horses running on the beach. Parking was was easy and right next to the trail - cost $7 which we were happy to contribute to the County Parks. There's an outside bathroom and picnic tables under beautiful big trees with lots of shade. All in all a magical place.

The fog is heavy and the ocean mist is in your hair, and you couldn't be happier! This is the charming coastal walk that brings about egret, giant blue Heron, and pelicans. I do this walk most every time I visit Bodega Bay. You are not alone as you will usually run into another and perhaps their dog. But it is never crowded. I highly recommend this walk when you want all of the ocean but none of the sand!

Tucked away on a smaller road off Highway 1 west of Bodega is a small parking lot with a marked path leading through bird lands and on to the beach. Dogs on leash welcome and we did see a few dogs that were indeed leashed. Pretty area, not crowded on a weekday morning. Many many birds seen!

All paved, you need a regional pass or $7 fee to park in their parking lot. There is a parking area north of the parking lot that is free that is right off the highway.. Nice place to walk, very flat overlooks the Bay on the edges to the north and faces doren beach to the south, also has an access path that takes on into doren Beach Park. It has a little sand pit with a bench at the end to the north west corner. Even when the parking lot is full it isn't all that crowded and, pretentious yuppies walk their dogs here and sneer at kids but that's not really a bother, still love...

We visited this place on a foggy afternoon. The waves, the breeze, the wind, the sight of the great Egrets hunting crabs in the foggy distance make it like it is in a movie. We met an elderly woman and her husband whom are so kind. We talked about the birds, the ice plants, and the weather. I was so surprised and moved when she said she wish she can share her jacket with me. We look forward to the cranes but couldn't find any. We will try again in the...
