2.1 miles round trip. Mostly level, easy hike. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the parking sucks. We got there at 8am on a Thursday and got one of the last 3 parking spots. Few spaces and if you don't get there early in the am, you will have a longer walk to get to the trailhead than the walk to the fall itself. Best time to see the fall is just after a heavy rain and in March, April and early May.

Nice easy walk, wouldn't even call it a hike. The falls themselves are pretty but small, with a little bridge that crosses right in front of them and a small pool to dips your toes in if you want. Watch out for poison oak if you venture off the main paths. There are some routes down to the river but be careful they can be pretty steep.

This was a fantastic little stop as I made my way down the canyon road on my way to the American River. There is a little water fall that's a fascinating sight to see. Very steep Terrain but plenty of room to stretch out safely.

Parking was a bit of a challenge because everyone else was trying to take advantage of the brief break in the rain and get outdoors like we were. We parked in the paid lot about a quarter mile from the starting point of the hike. I have the Vet State Park pass so It was free for us to park. Despite the onslaught of rain the last few weeks the path was level and smooth all the way to the falls. Nice easy hike, good for all ages. There are tons of little paths along the way that take you to various points on the river. It was running high and fast so we did not go down there because we have a dog obsessed with water who is to dumb to not try to swim. The falls were at peak flow and looked spectacular. There are lots of little places to sit and enjoy a snack or lunch while checking...
