The park is great, the dirt track is a little over a mile around the park and there is tons of open space in the middle. I love bringing my dogs here to walk. The only problem is other dog owners. It is not a dog park, but there is one in hollister. I have no problem with off leash dogs as long as they stay away from mine. We see some regulars that have very well behaved off leash dogs and that's awesome. Unfortunately, lately it seems like people are bringing their dogs here just to let them run free without any recall training.
My dog does not want to play with yours so please give us space, if we wanted to be run up on by other dogs we would go to an off leash park... please read the sign and be considerate. There is a sanded / gravelled 1.2 mile loop with porta potties available every two tenths of a mile. No drinking water on site. You can only get access to the trail from the parking area and it closes at dusk. There are thousands of holes in the field the size of dog feet. No, not from dogs running in the mud, but from little critters.
If you let your dog run on this it's very possible for them to sprain or break an ankle or leg.
Poor planning or poor maintenance caused it to basically be unsuitable for dogs to safely play.
