In my heart I give this beach 5 stars all day Long. Over the years the wear and tear of the ocean has damaged the acess, the beautiful steps down have been pounded by this past winter, and have made it difficult for most to get down. It doesn't have a bathroom, so most people don't frequent this beach. I personally love that part. It's not a beach for swimming as the kelp is thick here, but again why I love this beach. It's a healthy beach and at one time when our ocean was healthier, it was teaming with abalone. Sometimes you can still find the occasional shell hear, but the tides change annually. Low tide has been amazing in years past at this beach, but climate change has definitely shifted that. At low tide be careful because some low TIDE'S come in just as quick as they go out and you don't want...

We packed a picnic and spent an entire afternoon enjoying the crashing waves as the fog rolled in and out. It's a steep walk down to the beach from either side of the parking lot, but if you are able, you should make the trek down to get a better appreciation of the waves and rocks. If you are unable to take the steep steps down, not to worry, views from the parking lot are gorgeous in and...

One of the smaller beaches in a series of Sonoma Coast State Park beaches along HWY 1. There's a small parking lot at the top of some stairs that lead down the cliff to the beach. There are NO public restrooms available. Dogs are allowed on this beach and it's a bit quieter, but less space based on the tide. There's also more ocean residue (dead muscles and shells,...
