I want to start by saying still visit because the animals benefit from you contributing to the success of the business. Although it’s REALLY cool to see these exotic animals up close and personal, I think the owner could be more creative in providing adequate space for these animals. The Shetland pony (a very small pony that could easily be taken on walks or rehomed) was in a larger enclosure than the lion, tigers, and yes.. bear. These big normally free ranging animals were in the tiniest metal cages with no natural fauna or elements that would make their homes the least bit appealing. I was told that they’d run out of space and because they are a non profit they can’t expand further but really there has to be a better option, like set the raccoons free, give the domestic birds to people to take care of and build some big lush enclosures for the animals that really need it rather than wasting space providing cages for animals that could easily be taken care of in another setting. It was very sad to see and I would have been just as happy seeing fewer animals overall if the animals were the ones that really needed a sanctuary and to be there.

I wanted to see what others were saying when they say "it's inhumane" here. At least my $30 would hopefully go towards helping this sanctuary right? That's what I thought... The road out there is old, narrow, bumby & there's a deep dip at one point. The parking lot is bigger than the cages. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see these wild, exotic animals in such small cages. Tiger pacing due to lack of space & attention. Everything was just so dirty, disgusting & the energy the animals was depressing. The farm animal side is even worse. It was heartbreaking to see. There was at least 5/6 staff, once they were done cleaning or whatever, they all went inside. No love or attention towards the animals. This place needs more financial assistance & seemingly better staff (new management) who actually care about the well being of these animals. This place is a prison.

Thanks to the people that create spaces like this for animals in need. These animals are seemingly happy to have a place to be fed and cared for. It is true that once an animal has been taken care of by humans they can no longer hunt and fend of predators in the wild the same, so while I don't support places that create this problem in the first place for animals, I definitely support sanctuaries like this that step up to try and take care of them. After researching and discovering how expensive it is to feed these animals alone, I realize why they had to rescue from others that could probably no longer afford to keep going. I hope to see more donations helping these places continue to care for these amazing creatures. Their enclosures are nicely spaced so they can move around good, better than some of the pictures make it look.

This trip was on a whim to take a short trip out of Los Angeles and I googled The Cat house, an old article from AAA magazine I read years ago, and unfortunately the place closed; but I was happy to find this place. At first I was spectacle about the cages and I envisioned a sad place, but I was so glad I made the trip. My best advice is have low expectations and in the end you’ll be happy you went. The place is clean and maintained, the animals appear content and very healthy. The storefront is so quaint and clean. It’s very picture friendly for those who are about that stuff. Be warned there is a 1 mile dirt road so have good tires. I highly recommend this place and it’s better than the big zoos. The employees could be a whole lot friendlier, but I recommend this place and I will do online donations. Bravo.

This place is amazing, tons of history and amazing facts about these amazing creatures. They are so freaking adorable pretty bummed out the pirrahana that was injected with steroids is no longer there poor baby. But the entire family had a blast. Very educational. My siblings really enjoyed feeding the tigers and Jaguars. Sister cant stop mentioning how it was such an amazing opportunity. The zonkie and horse were so adorable to just chilling and super friendly. Great spot to get educated on certain species. Staff members are very nice place is very clean better to come here then the zooo.will we be going back? hell ya soon I hope .
