This was our first time camping at the Frenchman Campground and we do a lot of camping. Our first impression was the very rude camp host!! As soon as we pulled up the first thing the boasted out of her mouth very rudely was the we better be quiet starting at 10, not Hi welcome to the Frenchman campground I'm the camp host and if you need anything please let me know. She was very rude on several different occasions over the weekend stay and we were not loud and kept to ourselves. She was breathing down our necks and was watching every little thing we did. She made me not want to go back to that campground. The camps spot are not very good for over sized campers, toy haulers or motorhomes. We had a pull thru spot with a 32' toy hauler and barely fit in our spot. We could barely put down our step to get out. Our table and sitting area was up a hill and it was not even flat. It was on a side of a hill. I would not recommend this campground for anyone that is handicap or has trouble walking. The bathrooms smelt so bad. I'm glad I had my own bathroom, but I could smell them...

It's a bit of a hill to haul gear and such to the beach, but doable; even for and with young kids, it's manageable. Good swimming. Bathrooms in the parking lot could use some attention, so be aware of that if it's an issue for you. And the parking lot does fill up around mid to late morning in the summer, but if you can find a parking spot, you can probably find some beach to play on too. It's usually families playing in the cove, but sometimes boats come in too. We haven't ever fished here, but I know people do in early morning and late evening. $3...
Read moreMy favorite place ever. Been coming here with my family since I was a baby. We even spread my great grandpas ashes at his favorite fishing spot and to this day if any of my family comes to the lake we all go that same spot where he used to fish. On memorial day last weekend we went to our favorite spot with my grandpa, my dad, my son, my nephews and my sister. While we were there my son and nephew each caught there very first fish with the help of their grandpa and great grandpa. The trout were surprisingly big and my dad and GPA were so incredibly proud and happy for the experience. I'm almost positive they each caught their first fish at the same spot and the same lake. I wish I could be here or in chilcoot everyday, this place just...
