Gibbon Conservation Center — Attraction in California

I had the chance to visit the Gibbons Conservation Center with my dad last Sunday, and it was such a memorable experience. The tour gave us a look at several species of gibbons, including infants with their mom. It was both fun and educational to learn more about these amazing animals who are quite vocal and social.

What stood out most to me is the passion and dedication the staff puts into caring for these endangered primates and raising awareness about their conservation. This is a really special place for those who love gibbons or primates in general. This is not a zoo but a conservation center, so the tour is not interactive which can be boring for little, active children. However, the tour is very informative and detailed. We learned so much about each species of gibbon and about the individual gibbons living at GCC. The GCC is about 20 mins from downtown Santa Clarita and there is plenty of parking. This is a must visit for anyone interested in nature. The director and the staff are very accommodating and informative. It is sad that we treat our nature partners with the same disdain and irresponsible manner as we treat out own species. I do not want to call them "animals" as they have a more intuitive and responsible attitude than the so called "human" . We need to support the work that the team does and the conservatory.
