Read moreI remember exploring this mine and these structures as a child in the mid 70s after it was abandoned in the early 50s. The County historical society has done an Excellent job of preserving and maintaining this landmark with access and tours. I highly recommend taking the tour, it is the only way to access the inside of the mine entrance and stamp mill, and the docent explains the entire process for this type of hard-rock gold mine, and the rich history of this claim.
