This was a great discovery and a good break for skiiers who want to stay off the Shasta ski slopes for a day and indulge in a relaxed cross country skiing on groomed slopes. It is very close to the skiing lodge. A big shout out to the folks who run this small yurt and rental centre - very friendly folks who outfit you with all the equipment. The yurt always has a warm fire going on and they have hot cocoa and apple cider and some snacks ( $1 each). Highly recommend for folks with infants and kids as the centre has a covered sled which can be fit to one of the adults on a harness - pulling it along is easier than it looks. A couple of picnic tables are available in case you have snacks or food. Ample parking and clean restrooms are available on premises. Entry road changes slightly from Google maps as snow clearing varies. If you travel with a skiing group and are not confident on the slopes, ask them to drop you off at the Nordic centre and enjoy your cross country skiing.

Feb 2024. Our first time here. It was awesome snowshoeing. The staff was great. There was so much new snow to tromp through. We broke our own trails in the snowshoe area. Virgin snow and amazing trees. Epic weather added to our day. We will return in the future. We might even try Nordic skiing next time up. Apr 6 2024 Back again. Same great experience on snowshoes. Same wonderful staff.

We had a fantastic time today! It was our first time cross-country skiing and Donte and Courtney went above and beyond for my family! They were super helpful, even gave my 3 year old the opportunity to try skiing-while following behind her to help her! The trails were very well maintained. I don’t leave a lot of reviews for places-but their exceptional service deserved to be recognized!

Mt. Shasta XC is a Nordic gem in the Cascades! This XC center isn't the largest in area compared to others; however, the trail design offers a ton of variety with a nice proportion of sustained climbing, flat, and rolling terrain. The variety of terrain and circuits in the trail design provides excellent opportunities to work on transitions for both skating and classic. The trail system also lends itself to some outstanding classic skiing with plenty of room for kick-and-glide, as opposed to some XC centers where you mostly herring bone or double all day. Mt. Shasta XC also sits in a bowl, so when warmer weather makes the exposed trails a bit sloppy, there's plenty of cold stuff to ski on in the lower track system. Being situated on the slopes of Mt. Shasta makes this trail system one of the most exhilarating XC skiing experiences in CA and points beyond. The thing I love most about this XC center is the homey atmosphere and the extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Mt. Shasta has the warmth of a family business with an impeccably groomed world class...

Many time visitor to Mt Shasta Skipark, first time visitor to the Nordic Center, and first time (for the whole family) on cross country skis.

We showed up late in the day and Dante and Courtney had us out skiing in no time. I can't overstate enough the level of customer service we received throughout. I would come back just to hang out with those two. You guys make me proud to call the north state...
