We went camping in the Grizzly campground. It had been about ten years since I've camped at the Lake Davis area and I'm so glad I decided to go with my family again this year! The water is a perfect temperature and is great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, small boats and rafts. We took both of our inflatable rafts and enjoyed just rowing around nearby or swim spot whereas the older boys took one of the rafts all the way across to the other side of the lake and back. We were near the end of the lake so the other side wasn't very far. There were other inlets that we tried to go swimming in but didn't like nearly as much as the one spot we stuck too. The forest is beautiful and we didn't have much of an issue with mosquitos biting. Other places I've camped at have had major issues with mosquitos. This place is well known for bears. We encountered them 2 nights in a row. They weren't aggressive but only came by in the middle of the night 3-4 am. Just one each night. I will definitely be returning back to this location as soon as possible and might try out the next campground as well, grasshopper flats. We'll even take some day trips out here for water fun, it is only an hour or less away from Reno! Yes, and great restrooms at the grizzly camp! Flush toilets. I hadn't been able to flush a toilet while I was camping any other places I've camped so this...

This place is very beautiful....if you can't find a camping spot u can go off the dirt roads and find a nice space to pitch your tents and even a small trailer and u can go down to the campground to get water to fill your water tank in your camper for showers and water, also if you do camp off a dirt road be prepared for no electrical outlets or bathroom but once again you can drive down to the campground to use there bathrooms.

The first night we had to deal with alot of bugs flying around us and on us that was creepy and uncomfortable but thats because u have to move the pine cones and pine needles out of the way to have a flat tent service so it disrupts nature so of course thats expected just light a couple of citronella candles around your camp, but the rest of the nights the bugs flew away from our campsite.

The lake is beautiful and pretty clear see thru the water and it feels amazing during these months like July and August, however u have to be careful because we seen toe biters in the water and those things sting and look like a big cockroach just a heads up. Hope this review helped a little making you're decision to stay at Plumas...

Its a beautiful place to visit. I really loved it we camped for 5 days everything was perfect. Im sure this is a very isolated experience but on our 4th day we went to find a new campsite in the evening we went down humbug road looking for a PG&E campsite and on the way we came across a Maidu Indian sacred site. It was getting dark when we stopped to look at it . anyway there was a little Hut and a rock with inscriptions on it. I was looking in the hut when a white dog appeared and Water started bubbling inside the hut so I went back to vehicle and we left the area pretty quickly went back to Greenville where we had been camping it was late so we slept in the car but about a half-hour after we got there the same white dog we seen was standing outside our vehicle this was very creepy my dog was standing up in the back seat all night long with hair raised so we left early in the morning and went to Lake Almanor while we was there the same white dog was there at the lake we was going to stay two more days but I got to tell you it's a little spooky so we left. I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced...
