We camped here in our 5th wheel for 5 days. This is a beautiful campground full of large old sycamore and oak trees. The biking/walking trails are great! But - the campground was designed before they decided to open it to campers. All the water/power is on the wrong side and the paved sites are very small. We had a hard time getting in between a pine tree and the water/power supply. The shower itself was good but requires quarters and there are a million spider who live there. They didn't bother me and I didn't bother them so we did fine. I had a good shower for 3 quarters. I love the beauty of this campground but probably would not come back because of the small spaces. A very small camper or a tent works much better here. Only a few of the spaces have water/power. There is no...
Read moreDid not have a good experience. Our original campsite smelled like an outhouse, yes it was close to the restrooms, but they were clean and had no odors. Paid for an electrical site and was moved (due to the smell) to another site without. My husband is on a CPAP machine so that made things quite inconvenient. I'm pretty sure the campers to the right and left of us were permanent residents, were un pretty friendly with the camp hosts...the same ones we could never find when we had questions, like the code for the showers which had been changed from the paperwork we were sent. I also believe those same tenants participated in a drug deal or two, right in front of our faces. We had camped with 2 other couples, and we all decided that we will never...
Read moreClean and well maintained. Excellent camping facilities (by registered reservation only). Nice walking trails. Well appointed Large event area available for booking. All around love this place except for two drawbacks.
Not enough shade trees allowed to live shading the table & bbq areas at the south end.
A nice row of shaded tables & bbqs at the north (nearest) end, but the closest one is 35-40 yards from the closest parking, and each table is 20+ yards further than the next. They could easily open the little gate there during park hours, and extend the paved road beyond the gate down the length of the row of bbq tables. Otherwise they're just sitting there forever unutilized (boy that word looks weird typed out, but it's actually...
