If you’re someone who doesn’t mind a lack of structure, this place is for you. It’s a spot with no proper facilities: the bathrooms had terrible showers and toilets, and they were far from the camping area. Near the campsite, there was only one chemical toilet for ALL the campers, and, shockingly, it was full. There are no water taps near the camping areas, and the ground is sloped, rocky, and terrible for setting up tents. The reservoir wasn’t great either, but I can’t complain much about that because I went during the dry season. The most I saw was murky, dark water full of algae, but that’s probably due to the season. However, what was most alarming was the mess all over the place: there were piles of debris everywhere, from stacked wood, abandoned old cars, metal scraps, and just about everything you can imagine, from the reception area to the camping spots. The place is dirty, poorly organized, with extremely poor facilities. Even if I had camped there for free, it wouldn’t have been worth it. By far, the weirdest campsite I’ve ever experienced in California. The only thing that made it bearable was being with friends, and that definitely saved my weekend.

One of the best places I've gone to for kayak fishing, and a plus. They're dog friendly! I take my emotional support animal with me everywhere to help with my anxiety disorders. Also when my group of friends and I were on the other side of the lake. The owner came out looking for us because our trucks were in the way of an event for the day. He even offered to move them for us and apologized for the inconvenience so we didn't have to pedal all the way back. Owners awesome, the place is beautiful, and the fish are great on a boat or kayak. Definitely my favorite place and I'm going back!!

It was ok, I liked the backwoods drive into the reservoir. The guy running the place informed us we were the only campers there for the night. We found out why as the sun was setting. MILLIONS OF MOSQUITOS! I guess if you want a semi private campsite for the night, then go for it if you don't plan on leaving your tent for the night. Pretty safe to say we won't be going back..

The water was nice though. But there are reeds EVERYWHERE. It's not fun to swim in. If you have a boat or jet ski, then this reservoir would be...
