Scotts Flat Reservoir — Attraction in California

They don't tell you at check in, and I can't find anything on the website about it, and there are no bear boxes...so BEAR WARNING! They say they're black bears, but they will get into your things if left accessible, and they don't always respond to loud noise. Just be smart, lock your stuff up at night, avoid fruity/lemon scented cleaners, lotions, etc. I HOPE they start putting in bear boxes, would be the responsible thing to do since the bears are comfortable around people.

Bad maintenance at their boat moorings. Several boats mooring chains broke and the boats, including mine, hit the side of the lake before they attempted to fix them. My boat was the 3rd mooring chain to break and my boat got the keel dinged. They said the guy that usually fixed the mooring chains was not around and so they never got around to fixing them.
