Most definitely worth the $20 General Admissions fee (per car) but, would highly recommend showing up as early as 8am or even earlier to guarantee your spot on the shoreline of the lake. Most importantly bring a canopy or even a tent & chairs for you & your party to sit & relax on throughout the day because YOU WILL GET HOT !! (Natural sun protection is limited depending on where you setup for the day) Always make sure you have sun protection to prevent sunburn’s & always have water available for you & your party because I personally didn’t see a single store on the premises. For Jet Ski’s riders this location is definitely a paradise for you & your toys because you get to park at the launch ramp parking lot obviously which is a way better location to go to & from your vehicle all day for supplies because it’s so much more closer to the shoreline than the general parking lot which depending on how far you park can be a mission of its own getting everything to & from your site at the end of the day to go home ! Definitely will be returning soon with Sea-Do’s to get the full experience because don’t get me wrong it is definitely a great place to spend the day on the water but it just wouldn’t be the same experience had you had the access to Sea Do’s to ride the water throughout the day. Don’t forget to bring your BBQ pits (Charcoal/Propane) because there’s only so many available public BBQ standing pits & of course it’s 1st come 1st served so you’re not guaranteed the opportunity to BBQ on the pubic ones if they’re already occupied by the time you’re ready to start cooking. Always make sure to have your adult beverages in that “Red Cup” because I guarantee you the Park Rangers will approach you & will harass you if they do catch you with Alcohol on the premises & may even make you dump it all if they want to flex their authority (which they do DO !) For all my 420 friends this is a FAMILY FRIENDLY AREA so of course please show some respect for the children & the Karen’s in the area so be prepared to find a spot to smoke at or simply do what I do & smoke in the car in the amazing cold AC to get your fix & head change going. Paddle boarders please be prepared to have to wear a safety life vest because the Marina Park Rangers will approach you on boat in the water & designate you back to the shoreline area to prevent you from drowning yes DROWNING ! All together it’s most definitely the perfect spot to simply spend the day in the sun & in & outta the water all day & almost the perfect spot for a family reunion to host a get together for the family. Guaranteed to be returning soon without a single doubt in my mind. Leave the drama at home so we can all enjoy ourselves away from the public & society on beautiful State Grounds hiding in plain sight ! But most importantly don’t forget to...

Rver here,
The main roadway, 138, is off the 15. It is mostly one lane slightly inclined and winding in places. Take your time and at speeds you are comfortable with. The 25mpg curve sign isn't lying. There is a gas station half way up that had cheaper gas then the exit on the 15. There is also the only restaurant we saw, Silverwood Sushi and Grill, a Sushi-Japanese fusion-Korean BBQ place just up the road from the gas station. Looked popular, wish we had stopped.
The good:
The entrance to the park is staffed, at least the weekend I was there, until 9pm, which is nice for a change. Wood can be purchased either at the entrance, or there is a mobile store with an Ice Cream sounding music that goes around late afternoon with wood and any camping supply you can think of. And yes, they have ice cream.
We dry camped as the hook up spots were all taken. The spot we picked (47) was pretty private, although not all of the dry spots were. We did drive by the hook up spots and noticed there wasn't much room in those. The dry camping spots were much larger.
There is a RV dump with fresh water for RV dry campers.
There is a path (bike path?) that leads down to the marina not far away. It goes through a picnic area with tables, bbq grills, bathrooms, and a stream. The road was closed off to that area for some reason so it was mostly empty when we went. Kids had a great time playing in the stream and it felt fairly secluded. It might not when the road to parking in that area is open. The marina has a small store where you can buy water, snacks, beer, essentials. You can rent boats, Kayaks, and possibly fishing equipment? No real food to be had though.
The bad:
The weekend we went, and from other reviews on google that included most weekends, was a party weekend. Ranchera music was blasted all day long, every day. It switched to modern rock around 6pm, which was nice, but that went until 11pm. The next day, we got battling Ranchera from two different sides, both being blasted. I like music as much as the next guy, but I would be def if I listened to it that loud at my camp all day long.
The staff do not patrol the camp or enforce any rules that I have noticed. I did see them clean camp spots after ppl left and clean the bathrooms. Other than that its a free for all. The cops did drive through the second night and I noticed that the music got quieter after for about 15 minutes and then blasted again, so someone must have called them?
There is a nature center also, but it was closed and looked empty while we were there.
No free wifi by us, but our Tmobile LTE signal was...

We recently spent a Sunday night at Silverwood Lake Campground, opting for site 35 based on positive reviews. True to its reputation, site 35 was spacious and secluded, offering ample shade from several large trees. The picnic table tucked away from the campsite added an extra layer of privacy, making it feel like a true getaway. However, we were somewhat disappointed by the lack of a lake view directly from our site. To catch a glimpse of the water, we had to take a short hike, which wasn't ideal. Before leaving, we explored the campground and the marina, a short 5-minute drive away. While the campsites were within walking distance to the water's edge, accessing lake activities like jet skiing or boat rentals required a vehicle, which was inconvenient for those of us who had set up camp with a truck bed tent. Overall, Silverwood Lake Campground offers a peaceful escape, especially on less crowded weekdays. If you're seeking solitude and enjoy hiking, site 35 is a great choice. However, if lake views and easy access to water activities are your priorities, you might want to consider other options within the campground. Pros: Spacious and secluded campsites Ample shade provided by trees Quiet and peaceful atmosphere Close proximity to the lake (walking distance) Cons: No direct lake view from some campsites Lake activities require a vehicle Can get...
