What an absolutely beautiful area to visit. The Redwoods are amazing, the campsites are very well spaced out and each site can fit more than 2 tents. I didn't see any hookups for RV but did see a few tent trailers. the river access is close to each site with only a small walking distance on a paved path. the water was super cold but absolutely beautiful you can see all the way to the bottom in most areas, the current is strong so do be careful, they don't recommend swimming. this area is probably about 10 miles away from the main Highway 4 and about 15 minutes from Arnold for shopping and grocery store. it was very quiet and the stars were absolutely amazing to see with no light pollution. I highly recommend this tent site and day use area for large groups and families looking to get away and disconnect

I just started fly fishing this spring(2025) and this place has been good for the most part. Fly fishing here is not bad but there are a some trees alone the banks and can be a little tricky finding a spot for back casting. But there are plenty on spot where you can. I found that flying on the right side (4x4 trail side) is a bit better. I would recommend walking the 4x4 trail at least 3/4 mile where the trail loops back to the river then going down to the river. If you fly closer there are a lot of other people and it can spook the fish. One downside is a lot of people use power bait. But overall still a great place to fly fish. The video is a mile up river and there were people camping with there 4x4 vehicles(5) in a little open area

Boards Crossing is an absolute breathtaking experience. It's a must see if in the area. My family of five, ages ranging from 8-37 had a blast. Pretty easy access to water (Be very cautious of water temps, sudden fluctuations, and the current is extremely fast). I would not recommend swimming in the water especially not allowing small children and if you're not a strong swimmer into the water. If you do so dare to enter the crystal clear and tempting waters, be sure to wear a lifejacket no matter your swimming skill level. REMEMBER... What you pack in, pack it out too! Happy adventuring!🚵‍♀️
