A beautiful spot on the river. Spent perfect afternoon with friends enjoying the view ,watching the water swirling around back up the river hahaha. Most beautiful hawk perched in the tree across from us . Crows and other visitors ,but the spectacle of the day where about 20 or so sparrows flying about and dropping just to skim over the water grabbing insects... but when the sun began to set it turned into at least a hundred of them maybe more dancing in the sky and over the water in a perfectly choreographed act of amazement ! Definitely one of the most spiritual and spectacular things...
Read moreThis is a nice county park along the Russian River. Parking is $7 (no overnight parking or camping). There are picnic tables, and county-provided life-jackets (a lovely idea, but in the time of Covid, I would be cautious. There was no info about how or if the lifejackets are cleaned). Footpaths lead to the riverbanks where there are beaches, and even a rope swing. There was a disappointing amount of trash in the bushes and around the beach- clearly a party spot. I can understand wanting to have some fun on the river (all kinds! ;) but dang, people, pack it out after you pack it...
Read moreVisited this site for the first time for the weekend of 7/28. Get there early if you want to park in the lot! However there are shuttles that do pick up and drop off at Molina High School, which was about 15 mins away! You have to buy a ticket but it's good for all day and worth it!
It was nice between 11-2pm, then it started to get really busy with the crowd coming down the river. The shuttle comes every 30 minutes so luckily we were able to get out of there around 3:00pm. Bring snacks/drink and have fun relaxing at...
