Took Mule to 4 corners, to Meiners loop to catch Escalator (which I LOVED!!!) It was a fun climb that is not super technical but you can crank it and go fast, to Summit Trail and up to the top of Bear Mnt, then down Snail Trail (which was a BLAST to crank it going down!) and Mules Loop to the parking area. 15 miles???? My first time in Redding. I lucked out and found a friendly local to ride with. People here are so nice, the trails were in great condition (it was misting the whole time when I rode) and I think Escalator and Snails Trail are my two favorite northern California trails. I love it here!!! (PS: I was having too much fun going down Snails to stop and take pictures of that trail.)

Hike, bike, horseback riding, you can do everything out here. No place to get water, so bring your own. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 at the lower parking lot, 1 at the back lot, vault toilets but usually clean. No camping. Couple of purpose build mountain bike jump trails and flow trails, there are maps at both lots as well. Even a bike repair station with tools and a pump at the lower lot!

When I first started posting pictures here this place had less than 10 reviews on google maps and now it has 70. Thats crazy! This place is popular now and Im honored to have helped people find and explore this amazing place! Tons of hiking horseback riding and biking to be had here. Highly recommend! Been going here since I was like 10 years old! I would recommend not going here late summer and early fall though as it becomes way to hot out and all the creeks and ponds and vegetation dry out then. Also The Camp Fire went through here a few years ago. Although the trees are now sparse, it does allow for better viewing. Hikes here range from like half a mile to over 10 miles, but most of them are all moderately easy to hike. Hope you ecplore this wonderful place yourself someday! :D

Update, still cool spot. Bot literally tho, gets hot...

My husband and I live near this park and visit it frequently. We have horses and ride them in this park almost every week. We are amazed at how nice the trails are and how long they are. The trails and forest are beautiful and we never get tired of the outstanding scenery. We have never seen any big cats or bears there and are relieved that they are not around the areas we frequent. I would give it a five star rating, but if you go farther than the most traveled areas, which is less than two miles in, you will not have access to directional or map type signage to help you get around. Bring your compass or GPS. Also, there are many bike riders going through there. Most are considerate but some will shoot through there at top speed and at times barely miss the pedestrian users or...
