A small, but very interesting museum that thoroughly documents the historic Rand Mining District. Photos, artifacts, documents are inside and outside in a courtyard. It's free, but donations are gratefully accepted. The volunteer docents are knowledgeable and friendly, willing to share stories and facts. It's a fun place to stop and linger a few moments. Open weekends and certain holidays.

The historic Rand Desert Museum commemorates Harold Beck - Inventor and Prospector. He was one of the original owners of the Rand Desert Museum and lived in Randsburg. He was also one of the first to mass-market Dry Washers. His Dry Washers were known by miners from all over the Western States because of its efficiency in capturing small gold, and also for not losing much gold.

Small but fascinating museum dedicated to Randsburg, the mining industry behind the town and the local school. The volunteers who run it are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They have all sorts of interesting exhibits inside and outside. A must-visit if you are in the Mojave Desert area.

This museum is manned completely by volunteers. Being a ghost town with few residents it is sometimes difficult to always have a docent available but they do very well at finding someone to be there on the weekend. They exist by donations and fund raisers and somehow have managed to keep it open. It is well worth visiting and is only one mile off...
