Barrett's Cove Public Beach — Attraction in Camden

Lake Megunticook is scenic, very clear water, and the water temperature perfect for summertime swimming. Many lakeside camps and homes dot the various coves but there are only a few public access points. We love Barrett's Cove! Amazing place at the foot of Maiden's Cliff. In the summer lots of kids to make new friends with. The shore depth goes very slowly out, in an enclosed swim area to a dock float. The gradual slope helps my kids feel comfortable going farther and farther out as they learn to swim. Beautiful scenery with a walking trail nearby, great place to have a picnic or even a BBQ as they have briquette grills. Perfect incline so the water isn't too deep so it's great for little ones.
