We love Barrett's Cove! Amazing place at the foot of Maiden's Cliff. In the summer lots of kids to make new friends with. The shore depth goes very slowly out, in an enclosed swim area to a dock float. The gradual slope helps my kids feel comfortable going farther and farther out as they learn to swim. Lots of picnic space and grass area to set up shop. Always a terrific and beautiful experience

Excellent place for the kids to picnic and splash in the lake. Lake is awesome with a sandy beach access that the kids can enjoy. We can swim in the deep part of the lake and there are changing rooms for privacy too. Beautiful views and this place is a hidden gem. Picnic tables and bbq grills are available as well.

Clean beach. Warm water and you can see to the bottom. Mostly sand, some rocks and leaves. It was shallow pretty far out so it's a great place for kids. Some restrictions on dogs but they do allow them in the early AM and in the evenings. I would recommend this place. I went twice during my vacation.

Lake Megunticook is scenic, very clear water, and the water temperature perfect for summertime swimming. Many lakeside camps and homes dot the various coves but there are only a few public access points. Barrett's Cove, a short drive on Rt. 52 from downtown Camden, has a paved parking lot, large grassy area surrounded by trees, a few picnic tables. A sizable roped swimming area with very shallow water, well suited for small children. No sand or "beach." Three porta-potties, two no-frills...

Beautiful scenery with a walking trail nearby, great place to have a picnic or even a BBQ as they have briquette grills. Perfect incline so the water isn't too deep so it's great for little ones. A nice floating dock that you can swim out to if you know how to swim. Port-a-potties are there with changing rooms as well. Great spot to have a...
