Took my family to a free living history event to learn about the history of the history of Johnsonville during the Civil War. We enjoyed the reenactments, tour, information shared, and the trails. Definitely a gem for New Johnsonville along with the waterfront camping site and restaurant. The office of this state park was equally nice with historical items for viewing, a video for watching, and a gift shop. The drive from the office to the history site was lovely and winding (don't reccomend fiddling with your cell phone much for pictures). The staff was gracious and very welcoming to us all.

Very welcoming and knowledgeable Rangers that took us thru the museum and explained different parts of history. They took time to answer our questions and explained and mapped out the trails for us as they are currently working on improving the trails to make them more user friendly. Absolutely beautiful park and we really enjoyed our day here. Come out and visit Johnsonville State Park you won't be disappointed. Loved this park and can't wait to see the improvement...
