My family had a wonderful day of skiing on Sat...the last day that the mountain was open for the season. We have an Autistic daughter who does not ski, so we didn't know how the day would work for making it a family event. My husband and I approached the ticket counter, and keeping my fingers crossed, I asked "Would it be possible for my husband and I to share a ticket? We have an autistic daughter who is 14 and does not ski and we also have two younger children who do ski. Would it be possible for my husband and I to share a ticket so that we can enjoy our children today?" The women behind the counter was so nice! She said "normally we don't do that, but since today is the last, I will allow it". She gave me a necklace to put the ticket on so that it would be easy to transfer the ticket. I was so grateful that I was in tears. My husband and I were able to spend some time with each child...I skied first and my husband hung out with our oldest daughter, and then we switched and I took our oldest snowshoeing. Thank you Camden for making our day so special. If I may now make a request? As a parent of an autistic daughter, I know the struggles that we (our family) deal with on a daily bases. Things like this would be GREAT, if they were something that the mountain COULD do on a regular bases. It doesn't cost you anything and you don't loose any money. My husband and I could not be on the mountain at the same time, so no extra bodies would be taking up space. However the idea that we could split our time and each spend time on the mountain while the other took care of our autistic daughter means the world to us. So I hope you see how important these little suggestions means to the autistic families in the world. ...
Read moreI go to this mountain 1-2x a year and usually have a great experience. I understand that it was opening weekend but I was forced to wait in line for rentals twice. The woman at the ticketing booth didn’t give me my pre paid ticket I purchased online and sent me to wait in line for my rentals without it. Once I got up to the front of the rentals line after waiting 30+ minutes they told me they couldn’t do anything without a ticket so I had to go back to the ticket booth and then go back in line for rentals. I ended up getting my money back and leaving because I had already waited an hour total at that point and didn’t want to wait 30 more minutes in the rental line again. Also, I purchased a half day ticket so what would have been 3.5 hours on the slopes turned into more like 2 to 2.5 hours so the price didn’t justify the time. I hope there can be a better system or better training of the staff so other people don’t have to wait in line for rentals twice as I did. Really not a great experience and hope it gets better as the...
Read moreMy son rented skis used them for less than 5 minutes, and we couldn’t get a refund according to them there was labor involved in setting up the skiis? We sat outside in the rain for 20 minutes waiting to go inside the rental building another 20 minutes inside the rental building again he clipped in and unclipped and that was it $75 total never again! Read the fine print if your taking young children here they won’t give you your money back!
You need to streamline your rental process it’s painfully slow setup additional rental space with a tent outside add an awning provide a dry place for people to wait in the ridiculously long line and or to put their gear on. This was the third time we’ve come here and each time it’s such a process. Based on the size of the mountain and ticket sales generated I think you can add additional capacity to the rental facility. I’ve been to many small New England ski areas and the logistics at Camden...
