We can't say enough about our stay at Placerville RV and Resort. We chose this location because of their long list of family-friendly ammenities and reasonable rates, and it did not disappoint! The cabin was clean, the beds pretty comfortable, and it was so awesome to have the little extra luxuries of an AC, mini fridge and microwave. Not to mention the tv and dvd players with hundreds of movies you can rent for FREE at the on-site market. The pool, although chilly!, was clean and well maintained and the perfect reprieve for the hot weekend we spent here. We loved the family movie nights- one of which was screened on the pool lawn!, the old-school arcade with 25cent games just like the "olden days" as my daughter says, the train rides, goats, playground, and my personal favorite- the outdoor kitchen! This place is true nostalgia at its best and such a great place for families to disconnect and spend time together. Apple Hill is just a few minutes away too and if you don't want to cook, check out Wally's Pizza or Timmy's Brown Bag near by. Although I know they were short staffed (who isn't these days?!) you would have never known it. Everyone was kind, the trashes were never overflowing, and grounds, bathrooms and showers exceptionally clean. Thanks so much Placerville RV Resort team for making our stay so great- we'll be back again soon!

Great RV Resort. They do have a lot of rules that I haven't experienced at other places, and you have to pay a $3 fee for any guests that visit - every time they visit. But, I had a great stay. Very family friendly. They have a playground, an arcade, miniature golf, and a pool. Also, they show movies in a large tent on the weekends. The office has a small store in it too. Amenities also include laundry room, showers, and fishing from a pond. They also have a grassed and fenced pet area. They have cabins to rent, tent camping sites, and various kinds of RV sites. The grounds are clean. I will be staying here again.

A Fantastic First Trailer Trip at Placerville RV Resort!

Our inaugural trip with our new travel trailer couldn't have been more enjoyable, thanks to the wonderful Placerville RV Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how easy everything was. The pull-through spots were incredibly spacious and made parking our trailer a breeze, a huge relief for first-timers like us. Getting in and out of the resort was also seamless, with no tricky maneuvers required.

The entire resort boasted super clean grounds, a testament to their dedication to guest comfort. Every corner felt well-maintained and inviting. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful, always ready with a smile or assistance when needed. We even enjoyed a sweet treat from the on-site market, which conveniently offered ice cream – a perfect way to cool down on a warm day.

Speaking of cooling down, the pool was a highlight – clean, refreshing, and a welcome respite from the California sun. And for a touch of unexpected charm, we absolutely adored seeing the cute goat on the property! It added a unique and memorable touch to our stay.

While our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, there were a couple of minor points to consider. We were a bit disappointed to find that fishing at the pond cost money, especially since the pond itself was a rather nasty green. Furthermore, the setup with a gate you had to stand behind to fish made it feel a bit like "fishing in prison," which detracted from the recreational aspect.

Despite the minor fishing drawback, Placerville RV Resort truly delivered a fantastic experience for our first trailer adventure. The ease of access, pristine grounds, friendly staff, and great amenities like the pool and market make it a highly recommended destination for RVers of all experience levels. We'll...

Okay campground sites (not a KOA) but will never go back. I would rate this a zero star for families if there was the option due to the unprofessional lurking night manager. They have a strict 10pm curfew. The night manager Tom would lurk around our campsites at night with his flashlight off and harassed my family and friends and our small children. We were respectful and not loud but Tom would stand in and around our camp sites and would listen to us talking by our trailers. He would stand in the dark, not say anything and would wait and watch. He acted like he was trying to bait us into a confrontation. He made our stay uncomfortable and gave us all the creeps. He also would recklessly race around the campsite on his golf cart 15+ mph in the 5mph zone at night. If I would have read the one-star reviews on Yelp prior to our stay we would have never booked that place. Several people left reviews and had the exact same negative experiences. Staff has difficulty with their computer processing payments also. They say they’ve been short staffed for years. I tried paying Friday, but staff didn't know how to split up the payments for a group. Tried paying again the day of departure on Sunday...3 times went by the store after they were supposed to open at 10 the office was still closed after we left by 11am. By Monday morning they figure out how we could pay online and invoice was paid in full at that time. The response below says we didn’t pay as of Tuesday but that is untrue. The customer service by the manager was unprofessional and unapologetic and continues to defend the lurking night manager’s actions even after harassing our...

Our family stayed at the Placerville KOA this past Memorial Day Weekend. Upon check-in, J made sure that we were happy with our site and that we had the schedule of events for the weekend so we could plan our weekends’ activities. Our site was clean and included a nice sized picnic table. The on-site BBQ was cleared of all previous ashes and ready for our use. The highlight of the weekend for us was the All-You-Can-Eat BBQ on Saturday night. It was delicious! There was a well thought out selection of fresh food and plenty of it to go around. J, John and Cindy made sure that everyone was satisfied and kept the food coming! The KOA staff worked extra hard to make sure that everything went well. They had a tasty Pancake Breakfast Sunday morning and Karaoke with Elvis Sunday evening. We also enjoyed a round of family PeeWee Golf and spent plenty of time relaxing in their pool. The restrooms and showers near the pool were kept clean throughout the day and into the evening during the poolside outdoor movies! Ruby, our family dog, really enjoyed the new large dog run area. It has secure fencing and plenty of room to run and burn off a lot of energy! We constantly saw J throughout the Resort working on projects, assisting guests with their needs and spending some time chatting with the guests getting to know them and their opinions of the Resort. We really appreciated J’s “hands-on” approach to operating the Resort. That is a quality that makes the Placerville KOA stand out above the other KOA Parks that we have stayed at. We look forward to staying at the Placerville KOA a few more times this...
