It’s a clean visitor center with cool animal exhibits. However as someone who graduated high school (an abnormality in this county) it is disgusting that this visitor center has used thousands of tax payer dollars to preserve a confederate monument. Romanticizing treason and the fight for the “necessary evil” that the CSA constitution was written for is a reflection of the large rural Kentucky population’s ignorance and insistence of staying that way. The educated people in this county would never dare to stand up to this treason, and it’s a shame we still live in a country where this occurs. I will never be returning to Campbellsvile or this state park for these reasons. I have met many nice people while fishing and getting food here and don’t mean to judge the local people, but I am disgusted by the local general population’s tolerance of casual racism and white supremacy. I sincerely pray this subsection of ignorant, pathetic people are...

This is a great little educational spot for kids. Moms love the center as a rainy day location to take kids for hands-on learning. There are live fish, bees, and turtles to look at; animal pelts to feel; leaves to rub with a crayon; bird and animal calls to listen to; and a partial boat for learning boat safety (or playing pirate if your kid is like mine). On sunny days, you can view the lake from a look-out point, take a little walk, investigate historic buildings, play on the playground, and picnic under a pavilion. It's a lovely place. I even had friends who got married there (outdoors)...

After checking hours on Google and stating it was open 8-5 today 12/30/23 I drove from 2 counties away to find a locked gate with no sign giving reason why visitor center would be closed. I'll make sure that was my last trip since they seem to unreliable to keep hours of...

Nice hiking trails, and scenic lockouts you can get to from the visitors center. Also you can get all the info you need here and look at some exhibits while your there learning about local wildlife and information for the area. But I honestly mainly go for the trails and scenery.

Beautiful spot in one of Kentucky's own dam lakes:) They've got a nice visitor's center, playground, boat launch, rustic historic cabin, and pavilions that can be reserved for $50 or first come first serve for free.
