Canaan Street Lake — Attraction in Canaan

This is a very nice, small lake. Went swimming/paddleboarding this week. There was a lake host checking people in and make sure our boards were clean. Offered education on the loons and just overall helpful. My only complaint about this lake is the speed boats driving around in circles. First off, it's way to small for boats like that. Secondly, I found the people operating these boats were coming way to close to our boards, we had to move out of their way, and we were hugging the perimeter all the way around. The boats completely ruin a beautiful lake and are dangerous. 1 loon and baby died the week prior. Not surprised, they can't compete with those speed boats and judging how rude these boat operators are wouldnt be surprised if they just plowed right over them. I vote ban...

Great place to take your family swimming does get busy on the weekends all summer long but during the weekdays it's pretty quiet for the most part unless it's around 90° and everybody and their brother is out swimming just like most people at any other place there's water in temps like that nice parking lot designated swimming area boat launch and a changing and bathroom area along with a couple picnic tables and a single fire pit to cook your hamburgers and hot dogs out on...
