Vickers Nature Preserve — Attraction in Canfield

I had a good walk on the horse trails. Very muddy in spots, but nothing unexpected for horse trails. In better condition than others in Ohio. The forest is a nice regrowth, provided plenty of shade and has healthy undergrowth with mayapples and few invasive species, with some but not overrun with poison ivy. Fewer bugs than I would expect. The trail is pretty well marked with pink survey tape and takes advantage of the minor elevation changes. The trail layout was nice with minor turns to avoid an avenue effect. Trails through the woods give you a nice walk. But will be wet for days after a rain. Grassy areas not well mowed. Use to be a beautiful well kept place when they were having horse...
