I can't explain how discouraged my girlfriend and I were when not 100 yards into walking we find a group of people fishing off the boardwalk - in a nature preserve. What could have been a peaceful setting was marred by invasive human activity. A nature preserve, by definition is ": an area where animals and plants are protected and that has few buildings or homes". Protecting wildlife does not mean fishing is okay. Law Insider further states: "Visitors to Nature Preserves are prohibited from interfering with the natural events and natural process of the environment within a Nature preserve except under the direct supervision of an authorized Park District agent." Ultimately, this isn't a nature preserve; it's a park where anyone can do whatever they want. I suppose it means that Kent County Parks and Rec is at fault for not properly defining this environment. It would be nice to see this park either have its name changed from a preserve or that fishing is prohibited within...

I have found that this is more,or less about giving my opinion of places I've been. And that people have their own opinions. This is a environmental location. They have a couple of different paths which to roam. Although I believe that it is constantly changing. I believe it's still a very night place. A couple years back I'd gave it a five star, but time is changing it's appearance The trees have grow and fallen and the once overgrowth and lay out has changed. It's still a very nice walk in the changing of seasons. Recently visit with a out of town friend who came almost a hours drive to get back to some nature. Spring is best for animal seeing, birds, snakes, turtles, frogs, deer, and if your lucky Beaver and muskrats. Even swans have...

Great spot to fish when you have younger kids. I rember fishing with my day here as a kid. The kid had a blast fishing and out fished me and my old man. They have some spots for the kids to stand on to get above the railings just the spot we had it was sadly broken.

The trail around the lake is also awesome. My wife would agree is is a great trail with lots of amazing view. However fellas make sure your wife or girlfriend or fiance have the correct shoes on to go on this walk. I am extremely lucky and glad I picked the correct women. I apparently ruined her good not high leg boots... Whoops this was while we were still dating. Well she still said yes and I have a wife now. But there's a fun...

I visited this lake for the first time yesterday with a friend of mine. There were so many photographers taking pictures of the beautiful fall colors. The trails are easy to follow and give you the opportunity to follow alongside the lake. The woods offer views of beautiful hills, trees, and the lake. I would highly recommend this park if you're looking for some lite exercise or to walk a few miles. I will be returning in the spring to see the beautiful blooms views that season has to offer.
