Prairie Knights Casino & Resort — Attraction in Cannonball District

The people we had come across that worked in the facility were all very polite and courteous. The buffet was on another level.. the dishes were set out to grab from a 4 slot dish roll cart and we had to second guess if it was even where the clean dishes were supposed to be gotten from. Once we found 2 plates we thought were clean we mentioned something and the entire roll cart was removed from the line.. very nice to see them fix the issue right away but I'm still wondering if we used dirty dish bin plates. The hamburgers were boiled and as a guy who can put down some food I couldn't finish more than a couple bites before just giving up on the 30$ waste.. Please note!! After event we went to go see we did eat the pizza they made outside the main casino room (not from the buffet) was absolutely awesome and deserves much respect. It filled the pit that buffet left behind. Please as you read my review I want to thank you all for a good evening out with my wife. We did have a good time at your establishment. The only negative I had about the room was the shower head and the view of a dirty rooftop. We just closed the shades ate good pizza and showered. The pool room wasn't very inviting. Very strong chlorine smell. The hot tub looked like a crime scene with boards surrounding it because there was no flooring as if it was being worked on but they had given up along time ago. There was a broken rusted up pair of handcuffs and garbage in it. Needless to say we didn't swim. I would have to say of your intentions are to see a good event show and eat some pizza it is a great place to visit. There was another restaurant within the casino but due to our timing, event timing and the time they closed that area we didn't get to try it.. The desk staff were unfriendly both nights we stayed. The rack rate was the same even though half of the hotel amenities weren't open or offered plus I was put all the way at the back both times i stayed with a broken elevator that was broken for over a month. The rooms all had different types of coffee makers so trying to get a refill proved impossible without journeying to the casino area. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable beds, very spacious rooms, the bathrooms were very clean, both of us; male and female, enjoyed the indigenous inspired bath products set out. There are apple docking stations in the rooms but no USB ports on the end tables so if you are an Android user you're stuck. I also appreciated the full length mirror. The back entrance was manned since we stayed both times during the pandemic with a staff member checking temps and offering masks if we didn't have one. Each time that staff member was very personable and accommodating. More than made up for the cold dead fish at the front desk. Security was present which was comforting since at that time the casino was still open 24 hours. Trying to call down to order food was impossible and no room service at all which for a casino and resort is a necessity. During Covid closures they could at least offer a discount of 20 or 30% since the pool is closed, room service is closed, and no breakfast buffet. The room and decor throughout are a little outdated. Our shower took quite some time to get WARM, letting it run for close to 30 minutes. When blinds were drawn, the room was super dark, even with all lighting turned on. So that's a plus. Bedframe seemed very cheap, mostly with the slats being exposed, and the mattress was not comfortable. Wish the jacuzzi was in working order. WI-FI kept disconnecting. We both had a phone and laptop, and all of the devices had issues connecting to the Wi-Fi.

We would have loved to experience the well hidden steakhouse, but unfortunately, we came across it after eating. My boyfriend said something about a sign stating you needed to be a member. I'm not sure if he skim read and missed some parts, but with the hidden location on the casino floor, we didn't go back.

The service was great. Staff was very attentive, friendly, and welcoming in every department we came across.

The views surrounding the area are beautiful! Too bad we could not see that from the room. We went to the Marina to check out the area for fishing. Unfortunately, the wind had other plans.

There were no promotions other than double points on specific days. Machines were not giving anything out. It appeared that no one was having luck. What we gathered from regulars is that it's like this quite often.

No promoting the area and its historical landmarks. There is not much promotion for fishing in the area. This is such a beautiful area and not many things to do for tourism other than gamble, or wait for a show.
