I usually don’t write reviews, but this was the worst salon experience I’ve had in 20 years. I had an appointment with Lilly for a root touch-up and styling but arrived 20 minutes early. The salon owner suggested Katrina could take me instead. Since both were new stylists for me, I agreed—but that was a mistake. I should have waited for Lilly, as I was not in a rush.
I told Katrina very clearly that I wanted straight hair with soft curls at the bottom, and I even showed her a picture of myself with the exact style my regular stylist had done previously. However, some portions of my hair were still wavy and not straight. I asked Katrina to flat iron those sections again for a smooth, shiny finish, she instead sprayed a product that made my hair oily and brushed through it, ruining the styling she had already done.
What shocked me most was her attitude. She was visibly upset and frustrated, and instead of handling the situation professionally, she walked away to the front desk saying, “It’s not my day, nobody is happy today.” She told me I could get my hair set by another stylist, and even said she didn’t want to “take stress for $90” or have customers like me.
I was put in a horrible situation, and since I was going to a party, I requested that she please remove the oily look. She returned a few minutes later and used dry shampoo, but it still didn’t help much.
If she didn’t want to take me, she should not have attended me in the first place—I would have gladly waited for Lilly. Instead, I left with a messy hairstyle and one of the rudest, most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had at a salon.
UPDATE : I see the response from the stylist but I don't know how to reply so I am updating here
Katrina, thank you for responding, but I need to correct several inaccuracies:
Arrival & Stylist Change – I never said I was in a rush or that I had to go to the temple immediately after. The decision to switch me to another stylist was not mine, but I was okay with it. The only time “temple” was mentioned was later, when I voluntarily asked about a trim. Since you mentioned that a hair wash could not be done after the cut, I decided to postpone the trim until my next appointment. You did not suggest the trim — I brought it up myself.
What Happened After You Set the Hair – In your response, you claimed that I ran my fingers through my curls and caused them to turn into waves. That is not accurate. What actually happened is that when I pointed out the top right section and asked for a smoother finish, instead of re-ironing, you applied a spray that left my hair oily and you brushed through it. That is what ruined the style. To clarify, there was no issue with the bottom curls until they were brushed — not by me.
Additionally, while you may deny it now, you did step away and make comments such as “ that you didn’t want the stress for $90 and don't want customers like me . This came across as dismissive and unprofessional, and it worsened an already disappointing experience. I stand by my review. A professional response would acknowledge that I was not satisfied and focus on resolving the issue, rather than denying my concerns or attempting to rewrite the situation. I am ending this conversation. I shared my experience so you can understand how upsetting it was and to encourage you to prevent other customers from going through the same situation. This feedback is meant to help improve the...
Read moreI was looking for a new salon. Someone suggested I look on Groupon so I did and I found a special for this place. I booked an appointment and waited for the day to come. About 2 days before I was supposed to go I received a call saying my stylist was "sick" and I was being booked with (I don't want to use her real name) "Mickey". Due to not being there before I said "OK" and proceeded to keep my appointment.
The Salon was clean and decorated in a trendy vide. I was offered refreshments (very nice) and asked to sit in the chair. This is where the "train fell off of the tracks". My stylist had absolutely no idea how to talk with a client. She had no idea how to cut a simple Bob and had to bring her manager over to teach her the basics. At this point I was getting nervous but decided to be patient thinking she was new to the industry. She wasn't...she graduated 2 years ago! Her manager also had to tell her how to highlight blond hair. She did ok with the highlights but only used 16 foils. I asked her how many foils was a partial highlight and she said anything under 30. No idea why she stopped at 16.
When she went to cut my hair she kept asking "so you only want layers"??? I said "Yes, but I also need a trim. Please follow the current lines". Once again she asked "so you only want layers"? I finally said, "I don't know the terms to use are. I am relying on you to understand that I want a trim". She called her manager over again and started crying. She walked away and left the manager kind of trying to regroup and cover. The manager jumped in and gave me the fastest haircut I have ever received.
The stylist came back and blew my hair dry. However that was it! No styling, no product, no showing me the back....nothing!
I wasted $90 at this place and I will never go back. What a nightmare. Buyer beware...
Read moreRESPONSE: Number one learn how to take some criticism instead of blaming YOUR customers for your own job. Number two I don’t re call asking for grey hair and blue streaks around it. I went in to have my hair just touched up and a little more blended around. I didn’t ask for grey hair and blue streaks! You would like me to be patient? I’m sorry I didn’t want to be “patient” and walk around with grey and blue hair. I have many pictures if you would like to see this wonderful masterpiece that was done on my hair. I highly doubt you would walk around for a second the way my hair was left. Adding to your comment I was patient I left the salon went home washed my hair again combed through it and the blue just stuck out more. I understand when coloring is first done it takes a couple washes to wear off but once again I tried washing it ONCE and the blue just came out more. NO I could not be patient and walk around with grey and blue hair! Glad to have this expierence! Thank you.
Let me start off with the staff has great customer service! As for the results of my hair I am absolutely dreading! I went in with a golden blonde just wanting my roots touched up and a few low/high lights to even my hair out. After she was finished it didn’t look as bad I could tell the color was off but considering it was just died I assumed after a wash or two it would all blend. Well it didn’t my hair turned out grey! It looked like I had blue highlights throughout my hair and my blonde is completely gone. My hair was grey and blue! I went to another salon ASAP to have it fixed and they couldn’t believe the results... I’m not here to bash this salon I’m just here to share my expierence. I seen other women in there who’s hair was absolutely beautiful after! As for me unfortunately a...
