We got married at Brookmeadow a couple weekends ago and could not be happier with how everything went. From the moment we met Sarah on our initial tour, we knew we wanted to work with her. She is calming, informative, and so fun to be around.
Throughout the planning process Sarah was always available to answer questions, give advice, and help me hone the vision for our wedding day. As wedding day got closer, it was so comforting to know that Sarah had it all handled. On wedding day, she was there anytime I needed anything, dealt with probably a million things behind the scenes so we didn't have to worry about anything, helped keep us on timeline, and was just so kind and helpful to anyone she encountered. So many family and friends commented on how awesome she was.
Amelia also helped out a ton on wedding day. She was also right there for any questions, made sure dinner went smoothly, and again was a calming and kind presence. We knew the two of them had it all under control and we could truly enjoy ourselves.
Brookmeadow itself is absolutely gorgeous - from the lounge and patio we had cocktail hour on, to the perfectly kept ceremony area, to the gorgeous reception space, with the balcony where everyone got to watch the sun set and cool off from dancing - it's the perfect wedding venue. The food was absolutely delicious, we think even better than when we had it at the tasting. We have gotten so many comments from guests on how amazing their meal was.
We really could not have asked for a better wedding venue and are so happy we chose...
Read moreI had one of the worst golfing experiences I’ve ever had at this course, mainly due to Kevin Sullivan. Beforehand, I was promised left-handed rental clubs by 6:00 PM. When I went to pick them up, Kevin told me to wait until 7:00. Then, he simply told me I wasn’t going to get them at all. Their website advertises rental clubs, yet I was forced to play with right-handed clubs the entire time after paying full price.
On top of that, my email confirmation clearly stated that my tee time was from 4:30 to 8:30. Yet Kevin drove out in a cart at 7:00 telling me I had to leave the course. An hour later, he even called me and said he was charging me $500 for “driving on the green,” even though HE drove onto the green himself just to tell me to get off. The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
Kevin’s behavior was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and from my perspective carried racist undertones. The lack of courtesy, the bait-and-switch with the clubs, the premature removal from the course, and then trying to stick me with a bogus $500 charge—all of it was unacceptable.
This experience ruined what should have been an enjoyable day of golf. I would strongly caution anyone considering this course to think twice before spending...
Read moreFantastic course that's very walkable in the current heat (August 2016.) Nice and well-stocked pro shop. Staff friendly and head pro even gave me a quick (and free!) tip on putting when he saw me struggling out there. Two other guys in the pro shop seemed professional and pleasant.
Nice course, not off-puttingly challenging for a 15 handicap, but no walk in the park, either. Pretty flat (I like to walk) and greens in good shape, especially given the brutal summer and drought in this area. I saw Ryan's review below and I'd admit that there is a little browning of the grass but I'll take any superintendent who chooses to keep the greens in such great shape over the rough or even fairway given current weather. (I don't agree with Ryan that the greens were slow, but that's a preference thing for both of us, I guess. And I learned in Bermuda where greens are generally 9-11 on stimpmeter.) Pace of play was good and ran to about 4 hours 10 mins and price was definitely value for money.
Food was excellent, I highly recommend the burger and the bar staff were courteous and attentive. Drinks were cool and kept flowing.
Had a great day and I'll...
